Reading vs Cardiff Prediction & Betting tips
The final game of round 21 is played in the Madejski Stadium. Reading is visiting Cardiff City and many are expecting an interesting match. Will Jaap Stam succeed in defeating the number two of the Championship?
Reading :
It can be. A few weeks ago Reading was still afraid of relegation, now we are looking at the subtop again and secretly hoping for the playoffs. The hole with number six Derby County amounts to ‘only’ nine points prior to the round of play and should in principle be bridged. Since the beginning of November, only 0-2 was lost to leader Wolverhampton Wanderers and to mark that as a bawling is just too much of a good thing. For the remainder of the games, Jaap Stam’s team remained unbeaten, resulting in a fourteenth place.
The last two matches – visiting Sunderland and at home against Barnsley – won Reading. In both duels The Royals managed to find the net three times. Where it was just so difficult to find at the start of the season, Reading often cheered their fans in recent weeks. Man in shape at Reading is striker Modou Barrow. The Gambian who was taken over from Swansea City last summer showed a true streak against Sunderland by standing exactly in the right spot twice. Barrow added his total number of goals to five goals and is thus the top scorer of Reading.
Cardiff:
At the start of the season, Cardiff was one of the few teams to compete with the feared leader, Wolverhampton Wanderers. The Bluebirds surprised friend and foe by winning match after game and seemed like a serious title candidate. Halfway through the first half of the season however, Neil Warnock’s team came in a big form dip and had to leave the title aspirations for a moment. Clubs like Sheffield United seized the opportunity to take the neck-and-neck race with The Wolves at the time.
Cardiff, however, proved to have been cut out of good wood, because although the Bluebirds had dropped in the rankings, thanks to an impressive series of games from round twenty, they were second again with only four points behind the leader. Warnock has seen his team win the last four games and saw a special role for Canadian Junior Hoilett. The attacker has already scored six times this season and has been important for the team from Wales in recent weeks. Also in the 3-1 won game against Norwich City last Saturday, the left winger again took his goal. The big question is whether Hoilett can also find the net in Reading.
