Jong AZ vs Nijmegen Prediction & Betting tips
NEC lost its leading position in the Jupiler League last week after it chatted in-house against Helmond Sport. Another misstep on visit at Jong AZ is therefore not allowed for the team of Adrie Bogers.
Jong AZ :
Young AZ suffers from the success of her own youth training. Because the talents of the Alkmaarders perform so well, a large part of the main force of AZ consists of their own breeding. Players like Guus Til, Teun Koopmeiners, Pantelis Hatzidiakos and Thomas Ouwejan would initially finish their matches in the Jupiler League, but because of their good performance they act a level higher.
The result is that the selection of Young AZ hardly contains top talents, which has an impact on performance. Thus no less than seven of the last eight games were lost. In total Jong AZ collected sixteen points from seventeen matches, with which we find the team of Dennis Haar on the eighteenth place.
At Jong AZ the Nigerian Fred Friday is the top scorer. He scored seven times, even though he only participated in seven games this season. However, it is questionable whether he will be part of the selection on Friday, as he can also regularly take part in the first selection. This also applies to Iliass Bel Hassani, Levi Garcia and Dabney Dos Santos. With or without these players taking part, makes quite a difference for the quality of the selection that NEC will fight. One reason the results were better at the start of the season was the fact that players like Ricardo van Rhijn, Hatzidiakos and Koopmeiners also participated, but they are now regular members of the first selection.
Nijmegen :
NEC started disappointingly in the season, but then rejoined with eight wins in a row. After this the Nijmegen team seemed to be in pole position for the championship and a return in the Eredivisie. However, it was surprisingly lost to Telstar (3-2) and after FC Dordrecht had been 6-0 from the field in between, Adrie Bogers’s team faced a new damper last week: in its own Goffert, Helmond Sport did not get on the knees: 1-1.
Because competitor Fortuna Sittard did get the full loot on a visit to FC Den Bosch, the Limburgers are currently in the lead in the Jupiler League. NEC follows on one point, but has played a game less. When the overtaking match against FC Oss is won in January, the Nijmegen team will be back in the lead, which you can expect in view of the quality of the selection.
On Tuesday, Zwolle also lost 2-0 at PEC Zwolle for the cup tournament. Given that PEC is fourth in the Eredivisie, that can not be called a surprise. NEC did a good job in part of the game, but in the end it ended up at the shortest end.
