Slovakia vs Ukraine Prediction & Betting tips
On the 5th Nations League matchday, in Group 1 of Liga B in the City Arena of Trnava the match between Slovakia and Ukraine will take place. Ukraine is certainly one of the surprises of the new competition. With three wins from three games, the Ukrainians are in first place of the table and have the rise in the league A already in the bag. Slovakia are fighting against relegation in the Nations League. From two games, the Slovaks have yet to get a point and are thus in last place. But with a victory against Ukraine, the team of Pavel Hapal could catch up with second-placed Czechs.
There were already seven games between the two nations. Slovakia has so far won only one of the duels. There are also three defeats and three draws. The first leg in September, the Ukraine won 1-0 for themselves. Yarmolenko struck in the 80th minute with a goal from a controversial penalty after much of a goalless draw. The Slovakians’ only victory against Ukraine came from qualifying for the 2016 European Championship, when they won 1-0 away in Kiev. In the previous two home games of the Slovaks there was a victory for Ukraine and a point division. The betting base recommends Slovakia vs. Vs. Ukraine a tip on “Victory Ukraine” to great odds.
Slovakia:
Since October 2018, the national team of Slovakia is coached by former Bundesliga professional Pavel Hapal. Hapal had played for Bayer Leverkusen from 1992 to 1995 and won the DFB Cup in 1992/93 with the Werkself. Hapal became Jan Kozak’s successor in the country’s selection and is now making his home debut against Ukraine. Kozak resigned from office on 15 October 2018 after more than five and a half years. Kozak had resigned after seven of his players after the defeat against the Czech Republic had gone to night clubs. In the first game after Kozak’s resignation, Slovakia was still temporarily supervised by his assistant Stefan Tarkovic. In this game, the Slovaks reached a 1-1 in Sweden. The Slovaks have been waiting for victory for three international matches. Of the last six games the Repre could only win one, 3-0 against Denmark. In this match, the Danish national team, however, after a strike by the regular internationals only with a B-Elf of semi-professionals and amateurs competed. Except for central defender Lubomir Satka, the new coach can draw on all professionals.
Ukraine:
Since leaving Ukraine in the preliminary round at the 2016 European Championship, the national team is coached by former AC Milan and Chelsea professional Andrei Shevchenko. In 21 games under Shevchenko there were only four defeats for the yellow and blue (twice against Croatia, once against Malta and once against Iceland), but 12 victories. For nine games, the national team is unbeaten. The first three games in the Nations League you could win all and thus secured the promotion to the league A. So far, there was only one goal for the Ukrainians in the Nations League. In the last test match, the team of coach Shevchenko scored a remarkable 1-1 away in Italy. The World Cup in Russia, however, had missed Ukraine in a qualifying group with Iceland, Croatia, Turkey, Finland and Kosovo but still. With 17 points from five wins, two draws and three defeats it was enough in the end behind Iceland and Croatia only for third place. In the squad of Ukraine are mainly professionals of Shakhtar Donetsk and Dinamo Kiev.
