VfL Osnabruck vs Arminia Bielefeld Prediction & Betting tips
Monday night! Floodlights! Derby! What could be better than ending the first evening of a working week with a cold beer on the couch and getting involved in the Ostwestfalen derby between VfL Osnabrück and Arminia Bielefeld? For the die-hard in the stadium, on the other hand, the employee and child-friendly kick-off time at 8:30 pm on a normal working day is still a thorn in the side.
Among other things, the fans of VfL Osnabrück – as one and a half months ago against Darmstadt – have decided to boycott the first half humor. In protest against Monday games, the “Violets” will be able to count on the support of their supporters only in the second round. Perhaps this is one of the reasons why Osnabrück and Bielefeld are offering the lower odds in favor of the guests.
It is more likely, however, that betting providers base their odds distribution on sporting arguments. Also in this regard, the benefits should lie with the Arminia, especially since the Neuhaus Elf is still ranked third and could even work out a small lead over the pursuers with a success at the Bremen bridge. The only downside is the absence of striker Fabian Klos, who saw a controversial red card against VfB Stuttgart.
The “violets” have recently been slightly out of step. Only one point from the recent three games has ensured that the ascent euphoria has slowly faded away. The gap to the first relegation place has shrunk to two counters, which is why on Monday more pressure on the shoulders of the hosts relies. We therefore face the derby Osnabrück vs.. Bielefeld the prognosis that a tip on the men of the Alm is afflicted with a promising value.
Osnabruck:
Before the start of the season, the surprise champion from the past third league season was traded as one of the hottest candidates for direct re-descent. Under this pretext, the leaders of the VFL Osnabrück could actually be quite satisfied with the yield of ten points after eight matchdays.
However, a closer look reveals that the recent trend is rather negative. If the violets were still on the sensational fourth place after five match days and nine points, they have meanwhile slipped into the lower midfield. The gap to the first relegation place is only two points, which is why Daniel Thioune’s team would be well advised on Monday evening in the derby against Bielefeld, to retract the first victory since 1 September.
In the past three matchdays, the Ostwestfalen stayed behind their own expectations. Starting with an avoidable defeat at Erzgebirge Aue (0: 1), VfL missed three points in the home game against St. Pauli (1-1).
Perhaps the weakest season performance, however, offered the promoted last Friday in the still-unbeaten bottom light SV Wehen-Wiesbaden. After 90 minutes, a deserved 0-2 defeat stood on the scoreboard in the Brita Arena. Now the Thioune protégés had ten days to digest the repeated setback and to prepare for the prestigious derby.
The hope for a positive result is, among other things, the fact that the table ten could collect seven of the previous ten counters at home on the Bremen bridge.
Only the opening game against Heidenheim was lost with 1: 3. In view of the above-mentioned aspects of the descending shape curve we can compare with Osnabrück. Bielefeld, the smaller odds for a tip on the away win yet fully comprehend.
Personnelly, the situation has improved significantly during the week in the Ostwestfalen. With the central defenders Gugganig and Susac and midfielder Klaas three professionals returned to training. In particular, the second-league experienced Austrian Gugganig hopes for even more stability on the defensive, although the problems were identified more recently in the offensive area.
Maurice Trapp, Konstantin Engel and Simon Haubrock will continue to be unavailable. Even the actual regular keeper Körber is still in rehab, but could be available again after the international break. Meanwhile there are still question marks behind the stakes of the injured Ouahim and Taffertshofer.
Bielefeld:
It has meanwhile been more than ten years since Arminia Bielefeld was represented in the highest German league. In 2008/2009, the East Westphalians dropped out last and since then belong to the second or even the third league (three seasons).
The longing for the return to the Bundesliga is huge, although one is not so presumptuous in the environment of the DSC and spends the ascent to the upper house as a goal. So far, the black-and-white blues have done very well with a certain amount of understatement, because after eight matchdays, coach Uwe Neuhaus’s team has already earned a very solid 15 points.
The Arminia ranks third in the table. Only Hamburger SV and VfB Stuttgart, who were on Saturday and Friday respectively, have collected five more points than the surprisingly strong Bielefelders, who with a bit more luck last weekend could even have landed another exclamation point.
In the home game against VfB Stuttgart, the Neuhaus-Elf presented at least equally, even after scorer and captain Fabian Klos was referred in an arguable manner after a good hour with yellow-red of the place.
Until in injury time, the Ostwestfalen held the goalless draw before Stuttgart new signing Al Ghaddioui but still the bitter 0: 1 defeat from the point of view Rangdritten met.
Nevertheless, the performance against one of the big promotion favorites was once more worthy of all honor. Incidentally, it was on the eighth day of the game the first ever defeat for the men of the Alm, which could get a sensational 13 points from the five previous matches.
The showpiece of the team is certainly the offensive, which marks an average of two hits per game, and thus sets the peat factory of the 2nd Bundesliga. In all four away games the Ostwestfalen met at least twice.
Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how the Neuhaus protégés on Monday evening deal with their leader Fabian Klos having to stand watch. The 31-year-old was missing last time on Matchday 7 of last season and is from the Arminia-Eleven not to imagine. With six goals and four assists Klos is currently top scorer of the lower house. His failure weighs heavier.
The absence of the scorer is in our eyes, however, no K.O. criterion to move away between Osnabrück and Bielefeld of a forecast on the guest. After all, the experienced Coach Neuhaus with Andreas Voglsammer, who also scored four goals, has a strong back-up in the Sturmspitze available. Together with the formally strong Marcel Hartel (four assists) and Joan Simun Edmundsson (five points scorer), the offensive is still very dangerous.
