Brazil vs Nigeria Prediction & Betting tips
At the National Stadium in Singapore, Brazil hopes to end a series of three games without a win on Sunday afternoon. Opponent Nigeria, however, is looking for reparation after the failed Africa Cup last summer.
Brazil:
Brazil is of course happy to look back on the recent football summer, in which The Divine Canaries went home with the Copa America for the first time since 2007. Since then, however, the team of national coach Tite is in a lesser phase, as they did not win against Peru (1-0 loss), Colombia (2-2) and last Thursday afternoon against Senegal (1-1). If Brazil again failed to win against Nigeria, that would mean the longest meaningless series in more than fifteen years for South Americans.
So there is certainly some pressure on Brazil in this friendly meeting. Tite, however, does not care much, and will most likely make many changes to the basic eleven against Senegal. Star player Neymar played the full ninety minutes last Thursday, so it is obvious that he will start on the bench against Nigeria or be brought early. Everton Soares and Richarlison had to satisfy themselves against Senegal with a raid and can therefore hope for a basic place against Nigeria.
Nigeria:
Nigeria also has to put things right on Sunday afternoon. The Super Eagles did not get any further than a bronze medal at the Africa Cup last summer, after having to bow their heads in the semi-finals for the later champion Algeria. Just like Brazil, the West Africans are struggling with a post-tournament dip, because they did not win in both recent international matches. In particular the 4-1 defeat of last month against Togo was of course unacceptable for the home front.
National coach Gernot Rohr can use a good result, and has therefore put together a strong selection for the squatter against Brazil. However, fixed values such as Peter Etebo, Kenneth Omeruo, Ola Aina and Samuel Kalu all had to cancel, so Alex Iwobi and Wilfred Ndidi will have to pull the Nigerian cart on Sunday afternoon. Club Brugge striker Emmanuel Dennis, who recently scored twice against Real Madrid in the Santiago Bernabeu, is also present and can hope for his second cap.
