Atalanta vs AC Milan Prediction & Betting tips
In the last weekend before the winter break we are presented with an interesting duel between Atalanta and AC Milan. Last February, the Milanese were the boss in Bergamo, thanks to, among other things, two Piatek hits, they won 1-3.
Atalanta:
Atalanta can look back on a successful first half of the season. It has shown that last season’s stunt is not a coincidence and, if this weekend’s draw is at least, it will go into the winter break as number five in the Serie A. Moreover, it also managed to surprise in the debut season in the Champions League. La Dea did not score any points in the first three games, but managed to reach the eighth finals through a final sprint.
Coach Gian Piero Gasperini will also be happy that his team can also do without a striker Duvan Zapata. The Colombian scored 22 field goals last season, most of all players in the Serie A. Zapata started the year well with seven hits in the first eight games but was injured by his national team. He already missed thirteen games and saw his countryman successfully take over his duties. Luis Muriel scored seven times in the nine games in which he started in the base.
Last weekend, Muriel was unable to help his team. The Orobici caught a 2-0 deficit against Bologna within the hour and, despite twelve shots in the second half, was only able to make the goal. This player came in the name of former Genk player Malinovsky, who scored the equalizer against Verona a week earlier.
AC Milan:
It should be normal but for AC Milan it is special that it has not lost four games in a row at the moment. So far, the Milanese didn’t get any further than two games in a row without defeat. The current series was kicked off with the draw in-house against Napoli thanks to a hit by Bonaventura. Then the duels against Parma and Bologna were won, especially against Parma, convincingly played. Last weekend the Rossoneri again had their opponents in their tongs but again had difficulty with the completion. No fewer than twelve goals were scored against Sassuolo, but no goals were scored.
Part of the problem at the front in Milan is the goal dryness of Krzysztof Piatek, who scored only once in his last seven games. This weekend it won’t be any easier for Stefano Pioli’s team as the creative Hernandez and Paqueta are both suspended. Left back Hernandez was the most striking player in the first half of the season with his rushes down the flank, the 22-year-old Frenchman gave one assist and scored four goals.
