Isloch Minsk vs Slavia Mozyr Prediction & Betting tips
Already on Thursday, the current table leader Energetik-BGU Minsk opened the fifth game day of the Belarusian Vysshaya League. The capital club, however, surprisingly lost their home game against Gorodeya 0-1 and will therefore probably have to relinquish their top position over the weekend.
Before the duel Isloch against Slavia Mozyr, in which, according to the odds of the best bookmakers, the home side are treated as favorites, it is the guests who, if the competition permits, could jump to position one. The orange-blacks have been playing a surprisingly strong season so far, scoring seven points in the first four matches.
Last year’s eighth feels particularly good in the outsider role, which impressively underpins the victories against BATE Borisov and the reigning champions Dinamo Brest. For this reason – also due to the higher quotations – on Saturday between Isloch and Slavia Mozyr, we would tend to align the forecast in favor of the team better placed in the classification.
The host recorded just one point less than the upcoming opponent on the first four match days, but ultimately suffered two defeats in a row, in which keeper Khatkevich had to fall three times behind each. Thus, the current constitution also speaks for an isloch vs. Slavia Mozyr tip on the supposed underdog. You can find more advice on successful outsider betting from our guides.
Isloch:
For the fifth year in a row, the Football Club Isloch, which was founded in 2007, is now well represented. During this period, the team from the Belarusian capital Minsk established itself in the middle of the floor and was able to land a small slip in the fifth place last year in 2019. In addition, the white-blue reached the semi-finals in the cup, where they failed due to Shakhtar Soligorsk.
The hope of successfully playing the 2020 game year was correspondingly high in advance, especially since the 22-year-old Momo Yansane surprisingly kept the top scorer. The attacker from Guinea marked strong eleven goals in the past season and was able to network twice on the first four match days.
Nevertheless, the season start of the FCI can at most be described as average. After two close 1-0 home wins in the first two matches, the last two hailed bankruptcies, in which the defensive in particular seemed anything but stable. Both in the disappointing 2: 3 at home against Slutsk and in the previous week in the 1: 3 against Dinamo Brest, the ranked man conceded three goals and remained without a counter.
In view of the downward-looking form curve and the defensive defense, there is no value in our eyes between Isloch and Slavia Mozyr in the odds of the home win. Despite the strong home record from 2019, when the Minsk won eight of their 13 games in front of their own fans and only had to concede nine goals, we would refrain from betting on the hosts.
It will also be interesting to see whether long-time coach Zhukovski (in office since 2010) is again using a very fearful 5-4-1 system, or maybe even having two strikers in front of their home crowd. From a purely qualitative point of view, it would be a good idea, since Isloch, with the aforementioned Yansanse and Aleksandr Makas, has two extremely dangerous attackers.
Slavia Mozyr:
Slavia Mozyr has definitely been one of the positive surprises in the still fresh 2020 season. Few would have expected the orange-blacks to start with seven points on the first four match days, especially since the opening game was lost 3-1 at FK Slutsk .
However, there followed three very decent appearances in which the Martinovich group remained undefeated. This result is further enhanced by the fact that the two victories were not won against anyone, but against the long-time industry leader BATE Borisov (1-0) and the reigning title holder Dinamo Brest (2-1).
Incidentally, there can be no question of coincidence, as in the first leg of the cup semi-final the multiple Champions League participant from Baryssau was forced to kneel 1-0. It seems that the two-time Belarusian champion (1996 & 2000) really likes the outsider role, which we should also take into account for our Isloch against Slavia Mozyr prognosis.
Due to a compact defensive, which left little to burn at 0-0 at home against Rukh Brest last week and thus kept the white vest in the past 180 competitive minutes, the guests will once again try to get the fast outside players deployed.
So far, striker Melnikov has been particularly conspicuous, coming on two goals this season, leading the internal scorers list together with Andrey Chukhley, who, as a trained right-back, last acted behind the only top in the 4-2-3-1 system. In general, the Slavia attack game is very flexible and dynamic, which will probably also pose problems for the already vulnerable Isloch defense.
