Bayern II vs Meppen Prediction & Betting tips
For much of the 2020/21 season, SV Meppen was only at the bottom of the table. Most recently, however, the Emslanders won five of their last eight league games and thus freed themselves from the worst for the time being. In twelfth place, the Lower Saxony go into the catch-up game against the reigning third division champions Bayern 2. The little reds are still standing next to them and only won one of their last eight league games.
Nevertheless, in the run-up to the match between Bayern 2 and Meppen, the odds of the bookmakers turn towards the home side, as the odds comparison of the betting base shows.
The fact that SV Meppen is currently back on the rise is mainly due to the stabilized defense. The Emslanders played in six of their last eight league games to zero. Only in the last two home games against Zwickau (1: 2) and Türkgücü (1: 4) there were further goals to complain about. Meanwhile, little Bayern have only scored more than one goal in their last eight games.
In a match in which we see the Lower Saxony have a slight advantage, but whose outcome is difficult to hit in the three-way system, we therefore think it is more sustainable to bet on a game with a low goal score. Our betting recommendation is therefore less than three goals for Bayern 2 against Meppen.
Bayern 2 :
The second representation of the German record champions had planned a lot for the calendar year 2021. A year ago, the climber from the Isar only fought to stay in the 3rd division. A sensational second half of the season not only ended any relegation worries, but also led the little Reds to the third division championship.
Against this background, the restructured troop, which is now being trained by Holger Seitz, should by no means be written off prematurely. It is ultimately anything but unrealistic that the knot bursts permanently and the Munich U23s start a series.
Ironically, the Munich city championship against arch rivals 1860 Munich was lost 2-0 at home. To make matters worse, it was a game at eye level, in which not the playful quality was missing, but the mental strength.
On the one hand, the highly traded Joshua Zirkzee caught an early red card after a brutal foul. And on the other hand, only an own goal and defensive negligence in the closing stages brought the two goals. Again it could be stated that the Seitz-Elf beat themselves.
All the more surprising is the bookmaker’s assessment of this catch-up game, which should actually have taken place on matchday ten.
Judging by the fact that the little reds have not been able to win at home since October and only won one win from their last eight league games, they can really not be considered a favorite.
Meppen :
SV Meppen experienced a major upheaval in the summer when long-time coach Christian Neidhart turned his back on the club after seven years. Several service providers – especially the offensive life insurance company Deniz Undav – also left.
The finding phase under the new coach Torsten Frings was correspondingly protracted. Meppen lost seven of the first nine league games of the 2020/21 season and was up to his neck in the relegation battle. Instead of reacting hectically and firing the trainer, those responsible pointed out that the development simply needed a little more time.
In the end, they should be right, because the Lower Saxony won 16 out of 24 possible points from the eight league games that followed and pulled their heads out of the loop for a long time.
Only on Saturday Meppen succeeded in winning the next impressive victory against 1. FC Saarbrücken, which even led the table in the third division for eleven match days. Impressive not because of the close 1-0 result, but because again no goal was allowed, while offensively a well-rehearsed standard situation brought the golden winner.
The fact that Lower Saxony played to zero in six of their last eight league games, although Ingolstadt, Mannheim, Rostock or Saarbrücken faced several very scoring opponents, underlines our tip for a low-goal game with a maximum of two goals at Bayern 2 against Meppen.
The long-term perspective also looks very good for the Frings troop. With Tom Boere, league rival Türkgücü was finally able to sign a center forward for the very position that had been underfilled since Undav’s departure. The SVM can look ahead positively.
