AC Milan vs Bologna Prediction & Betting tips
AC Milan seems to be throwing away all the good results of the past months in a short time. It has now fallen to seventh place and must even be careful that it does not lose the direct placement for the Europa League. With Bologna it gets a team in good shape to visit so also this weekend it will have to fight for points. Milan already had a lot of trouble with this team in December, when Bologna was in a lesser phase but was able to pull a 0-0 out.
AC Milan:
The fans of AC Milan yearn for participation in the ball. The last time that the Milanisti played in the Champions League main tournament dates back to 2013. For a long time, this also seemed to be successful, between the eleventh and 33rd round the team was almost continuously in fourth place. In the last few weeks, however, the team does not appear to be in any field on the team that remained unbeaten in the Serie A at the start of this year for ten games in a row (seven wins, three tied). Since the Rossoneri lost 2-3 in the ‘home game’ against fellow townman Inter on 2-3 March, things have gone downhill. Of the last seven league matches, four were lost (Inter, Sampdoria, Juventus, Torino), two were tied (Parma, Udinese) and only Lazio was won thanks to a penalty kick. In between, the same Lazio was lost once again, so AC Milan was unable to reach the cup final.
One of the players that was sorely missed in recent weeks is the Brazilian dribbler Lucas Paqueta who brought a lot of offensive creativity in his first months. The 21-year-old midfielder has since recovered from his ankle injury but was unable to make a difference in the hour that he came into action at Torino. Milan barely got a good chance in that game and was awarded a penalty 58 minutes into the game. Genaro Gattuso tried to straighten out by bringing in Krzysztof Piatek and Fabio Borini and switching to a 4-4-2 lineup. The game did indeed improve and eventually led to a header on the crossbar from Tiemoue Bakayoko, two minutes later Milan got the lid on when noseo Musacchio defended weakly and Torino made the 2-0.
In addition to the defeat, there was more bad news for Gattuso, six of his players received a yellow card from which Romagnoli was even sent off the pitch ten minutes before time. Both Romagnoli and Suso are therefore absent on Monday, while Paqueta is also suspended with the next yellow card.
Bologna:
Bologna was humiliated by 0-4 at the end of January by Frosinone in-house, after which the club management intervened. Filippo Inzaghi was fired and Sinisa Mihajlovic became his replacement. Among the Serbian, the relegation candidate had a good start with a win at Inter and a draw against Genoa. After this, three games in a row were lost with only one goal difference (Juventus, AS Roma and Udinese), but it was clear that the team played football many times better than in the preceding months.
In the past six weeks, this also translated into good results. Of the last eight games, no fewer than six were won, in addition there was a draw at Fiorentina and a defeat at Atalanta. Bologna has been in the relegation zone in twenty of the first thirty rounds, it is now fourteenth. Because the Rossoblu won 3-1 from number eighteen Empoli last weekend, they now have a comfortable eight point lead over the relegation line. The victory was very justified, Bologna was lord and master in both halves and more than made up for a 0-1 deficit in the second half.
