Angers vs Lille Prediction & Betting tips
In the previous decade, Lille did not win a visit to Angers. Can Christophe Galtier’s team bring about change this year?
Angers:
Angers only managed to win this season in the cup tournaments and only managed to get two points from the four league games since the New Year. Last weekend, the Stéphane Moulin team lost 4-1 to Stade Reims in-house and last Tuesday, a visit to AS Monaco suffered a 1-0 defeat. Les Scoïstes were certainly a lot stronger than the Monegasques in the second half, but they always failed to complete. If Lille is also lost on Friday-evening, the Moulin team seems to have no chance of a European ticket for next season.
At home, Angers often impressed at home at the start of the season, but nowadays the performances in the Stade Raymond-Kopa cannot be called good either. The last home win was booked at the end of November against low-flyer Nimes Olympique, followed by two draws and two defeats. In both defeats, the defense in particular made a bad impression, as no fewer than seven goals were collected in the regular playing time of both games. It is therefore not surprising that Angers is now also in the middle bracket when it comes to performance in home games.
Lille:
With a 1-0 win at home on Stade Rennais, the number three in the ranking, Lille, the number four in the ranking, kept alive the hope of a place in the top three last Tuesday. Loïc Remy scored the only goal of the game after four minutes, in which both teams are quite matched. Les Dogues are now only three points behind the top three and moreover, the gap to fifth place also grew to three points last week, giving Christophe Galtier’s team a bit of breathing space. That does not seem a superfluous luxury in advance, because next week Lille will face a squatter against Olympique Marseille, the number two in the ranking.
Loïc Remy, the maker of the only goal against Stade Rennais, is going through a mixed season, just like his teammates. In six games in the French cup tournaments, the French striker scored no less than six times, but in the competition the counter is still on four goals in fifteen games, of which only one hit in his last eight appearances in the Ligue 1. Last season Remy knew with seven competition goals not to be beat at the level of Nicolas Pépé and Jonathan Bamba and this season Victor Osimhen is in a class of his own at les Dogues with now eleven hits and three assists.
