Ath Bilbao vs Granada CF Prediction & Betting tips
The meeting between Athletic Bilbao and Granada on Sunday afternoon in the San Mames promises to be very interesting. Both teams can look back on a great start to the season, although Athletic Bilbao has been in much better shape in recent weeks.
Athletic Bilbao:
Since trainer Gaizka Garitano waves the skepter in the San Mames, Athletic Bilbao is going strong again. He managed to steer the Basques towards calmer waters last season, and with a provisional fifth place they are again fully participating in the battle for European football. The game of the red and whites is certainly not always polished, but it is certainly very effective. Athletic Bilbao, for example, won 1-2 last weekend at fellow countryman Osasuna, who had been unbeaten in his own home for almost a year and a half.
Athletic Bilbao is doing well, although Garitano has to puzzle in his vanguard this weekend. The attackers Iker Muniain and Aritz Aduriz have to be absent due to injury oath, while Raul Garcia and Inaki Williams are also not fit. In the worst case, the Basques have to do without their four best attackers on Sunday afternoon. Garitano therefore probably has no choice but to throw the talent Oihan Sancet for the lions. Athletic Bilbao has great expectations from its future playmaker, who was six times in the second team in just nine games this season.
Granada:
Granada was the big sensation of the first season quarter, but in the meantime the PhD student is firmly on the ground again. The last four competition duels yielded only one point, although the Andalusians do it with 21 points and a provisional eighth place of course still far beyond expectations. Avoiding relegation is and remains the goal, so it would make perfect sense for Granada to descend to the right row in the coming weeks.
With 21 points, Granada is fast on its way to preservation, but it is of course important to keep collecting points regularly. However, I am concerned about the defense of Los Nazaries. Granada has not managed to keep the zero for four games in a row, something that had not occurred since the appointment of coach Diego Martinez. Especially in away games, the team with no fewer than fourteen goals in seven matches is extremely vulnerable. Martinez, who may not be in the dug-out due to a suspension on Sunday afternoon, will therefore have to find a solution.
