Barcelona vs Juventus Prediction & Betting tips
In the final round in group G of the Champions League, FC Barcelona and Juventus will face each other on Tuesday evening at the Camp Nou. Both superpowers have already been assured of a place in the eighth finals of the European champions ball, although the battle for group victory has not yet been decided.
Barcelona:
That poor Ronald Koeman … De Zaandammer was adored by the Dutch national team with the European Championship and the World Cup in prospect. However, he could not resist the call of his dream club FC Barcelona, which means he is now left with the baked pears. Last weekend, the Catalans fell again (Cadiz-away: 2-1), so they can almost certainly forget the Spanish national title. Because of his impressive career as a player, Koeman has more credit than an average coach, but with the presidential elections ahead, he is by no means certain of his job.
On Tuesday evening, FC Barcelona can leave its LaLiga worries behind for a while, because in the Champions League, the Catalans are doing very well with the maximum score of fifteen points from five group matches. The difficult away game against Juventus was also won 0-2, so the Blaugrana can even afford a small defeat in this last group match to be considered one of the group winners in the future. It is expected that, just like in the previous duels against Dynamo Kiev (0-4) and Ferencvaros (3-0), Koeman will rotate considerably, because in his own country even Champions League qualification is hanging by a thread.
Juventus:
Juventus only suffered damage in group G of the Champions League in the 0-2 defeat against FC Barcelona, so the Italians are already assured of wintering in the European million ball. The Old Lady can even become the group winner if it wins by more than two goals or by 1-3, 2-4 or 3-5 at the Camp Nou. Just like FC Barcelona, Juventus is also not in top form this season. The club from Turin is already at ten loss points in Serie A after ten rounds of play, and crawled through the eye of the needle in the city derby against Torino last weekend thanks to late goals from Weston McKennie and Leonardo Bonucci: 2-1.
Just like Koeman, Juventus coach Andrea Pirlo will probably also rotate a bit. However, the Italians have a few players in their ranks who still have a bone to pick with FC Barcelona. Arthur left through the back door of the Camp Nou last summer and will be happy to show that the Catalans made a mistake in letting him go. In addition, Cristiano Ronaldo is keen to hurt FC Barcelona one more time, as he of course regularly did in the Real Madrid shirt in the past. The Portuguese star had to follow the first leg of last October behind the tube, because he was still in quarantine at the time.
