Betis vs Alaves Prediction & Betting tips
The now traditional Monday evening match in LaLiga takes place this week in the Benito Villamarin, where Real Betis will compete against Alaves. The home team is in good shape and is therefore the big favorite. The visitors have a very difficult time and fight against relegation, but a cat in a corner makes strange jumps.
Real Betis:
Until a few months ago, Real Betis seemed to be facing another disappointing season in the anonymous middle bracket, but since the turn of the year, the Andalusians have had the taste. The last eight league matches yielded no less than nineteen points, and with a sixth place in LaLiga, the green and white are heading for European football. When coach Manuel Pellegrini’s men also manage to beat Alaves on Monday evening, they will book their fourth LaLiga victory in a row, something that has not happened for three years.
Real Betis is therefore in good shape, but Pellegrini is wary of too much optimism: ‘We are not at all concerned with European football, nor are we thinking about next weekend’s derby against Sevilla. The only thing that matters is the match against Alaves. ‘ The always-laden city derby against arch-rival Sevilla is indeed on the program next Sunday. Star player Nabil Fekir, like Victor Ruiz, is on the alert with four yellow cards, but Pellegrini does not seem to be planning to spare them on Monday evening.
Deportivo Alaves:
The atmosphere in Vitoria is a lot less good than in the green and white part of Seville. With only eleven rounds to go, local pride Alaves is in the penultimate place in LaLiga, so it has to fear relegation. The Basques need not despair, however, as they are only two points away from the safe seventeenth place.
Looking at the selection of trainer Abelardo you would say that Alaves can escape the relegation dance. The attacking duo Joselu and Lucas Perez and goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco would be important basic players for almost all clubs in the Spanish right-hand row. On the other hand, the lousy shape gnaws at self-confidence. Last week’s 0-1 loss against Alaves meant the third loss in a row for El Glorioso. Especially next week’s home game against direct competitor Cadiz is an absolute key duel in the fight against relegation, so it could be that Abelardo is already taking that into account on Monday evening.
