Betis vs Eibar Prediction & Betting tips
Real Betis takes on Monday evening in its own Benito Villamarin against Eibar. The home club already provided a lot of spectacle this season with its weak rearguard. The visitors hope to benefit from this, although club top scorer Kike Garcia has to miss the trip to Seville due to a suspension.
Real Betis:
Also this season Real Betis is again unable to convince. The new coach Manuel Pellegrini initially had a promising start with two victories in the first two rounds of play in the Benito Villamarin, but little of that good feeling remains after no less than six defeats in the eight games thereafter. Perhaps the low point of this already sad season was last week, when the Andalusians were led to the slaughter with a 4-0 defeat at Athletic Bilbao. “When you get so many hits it’s impossible to make a fist,” Pellegrini grumbled afterwards.
The criticism from Pellegrini is justified, because with no less than 21 goals against Real Betis has the worst rearguard of LaLiga. One in two goal attempts by the opponents actually results in a goal. The defensive problems do not seem to be over for the time being, as with first goalkeeper Claudio Bravo and center-back Aissa Mandi, the green-and-white again have to miss two important players on Monday evening. The creative star player Sergio Canales is also still in the rag basket for the time being, although Pellegrini can have Nabil Fekir again.
Eibar:
Eibar is a few places lower in the rankings than Real Betis, but the Basques have been doing a lot better than their upcoming opponent in recent weeks. After a difficult start to the competition, the red-blue ones only had to give up once in their last six matches. “We are on the right track,” said coach Jose Luis Mendilibar after last week’s scoreless draw against Getafe.
Despite this nice shape, Eibar also has quite a few headaches. The Basques live almost entirely on their solid rearguard. However, with only six goals in ten rounds of play, they lack scoring ability. Three of those goals came in the name of attack leader Kike Garcia, who will be suspended on Monday-evening. Scoring against Real Betis will therefore be a huge challenge again.
