Birmingham vs Middlesbrough Prediction & Betting tips
Round 11 is kicked off on Friday evening at St. Andrew’s Stadium, where both Birmingham City and Middlesbrough hope to break through a triumphant series of three games.
Birmingham City:
After a great start to the season, with thirteen points from eight games, things got worse at Birmingham City. Since the 0-1 win over to PhD student Charlton Athletic, The Blues lost three times in a row in the Championship. Only in the 3-2 match lost with Derby County did City manage to find the net. The departure of top player Che Adams to Southampton does not seem to have been well taken care of by Pep Clotet and associates. Investments were mainly made in the last two lines, including the recruitment of Ivan Sunjic (€ 8 million from Dinamo Zagreb), but that is far from bearing fruit.
Last week’s Wigan Athletic match seemed to be heading for a scoreless draw. Both teams got chances in the equal game, but no goals were scored. A big blunder from City goalkeeper Lee Camp fifteen minutes before time, however, ensured that The Blues were left empty-handed in Wigan. The experienced keeper let a seemingly simple shot slip beneath himself. Clotet did not blame his goalkeeper after the game: “He started the season well. I understand that keepers get a lot of criticism in situations like this, but I think Lee (Camp) doesn’t care. ”
Middlesbrough:
Like Birmingham City, Middlesbrough is not exactly in the best period of the still-fledging Championship season. After a 1-0 defeat visiting title contender Cardiff City, Boro got a beating at home from Sheffield Wednesday. The Owls were no less than 1-4 strong for the Jonathan Woodgate team. This final score had already been reached in the 40th minute and Boro was then unable to return to the game at all. Trailing 0-2, reached in the sixth minute, it was Patrick McNair who made Middlesbrough’s only goal. However, that turned out to be no intention to make a comeback.
Also in the most recent competition duel Middlesbrough did not come to a victory. Again Boro was surprised by a goal in the first half (40th minute). This time the home team managed to level the score almost immediately. An own goal offered help with the difficult playing Boro. Middlesbrough then became stronger, but that did not result in the first victory since September 14. The score remained at 1-1 and as a result Woodgate and his men still have the disappointing twentieth position of the Championship after ten rounds.
