Bologna vs Sampdoria Prediction & Betting tips
In December, Bologna lost the away match against Sampdoria 4-1. The team is now in much better shape under a new trainer and a better performance is expected, the red-blue ones are even favorite with the bookmakers.
Bologna:
Bologna was in the relegation zone for much of the season, but proved to be a difficult team to beat under the new trainer Siniša Mihajlović. Since his arrival, the team has achieved thirteen points from six games, making it two points above the line. In-house, the team won with a solid force Mitchell Dijks from Chievo, Sassuolo and Cagliari. In addition, Torino was won and 0-0 was played at Fiorentina last weekend.
Although Bologna is in good shape, relegation is still a big job. In addition to number nine Sampdoria, it is up against AC Milan (4th), Lazio (8th) and Napoli (2nd). The matches in which the Rossoblu has to happen therefore seem to be the direct confrontations with competitors Empoli (18th) next weekend and Parma (15th) in early May.
This weekend Mihajlović cannot rely on both left back Mitchell Dijks and striker Federico Santander. Especially the stand-in of the Dutchman is still a question mark. The intended substitute Federico Mattiello has been injured, so it is likely that left winger Ladislav Krejci will be in the left rear position.
Sampdoria:
Sampdoria won five of the last eight games and is therefore still able to win a ticket to the Europa League. Last weekend the derby with fellow townman Genoa was won. In the shared Stadio Luigi Ferraris, Albin Ekdal was back in base at Sampdoria after a month of injuries. His team took the lead after just three minutes. Player of the season Fabio Quagliarella gave a gritty hard cross to Gregoire Defrel, who therefore had him in for typing. La Samp went to rest with a head start and received help from the referee shortly after the break. Biraschi got the ball on his hands from close by in the penalty area and was red for that. Quagliarella completed the resulting penalty kick in a controlled manner, a so-called triple punishment for Genoa.
With this 2-0 victory, Sampdoria comes to 48 points, keeping seventh place within reach. Given the favorable schedule, everything still seems possible in Genoa. Sampdoria still has to face Bologna (17th), in-house against rival Lazio (8th), Parma (14th), Empoli (18th), Chievo (20th) and the then long and widely played champion Juventus. Trainer Marco Giampolo is also fortunate in that he has an almost fit selection.
