Bournemouth vs Luton Prediction & Betting tips
Two teams, both of whom are relegated to relegation in their own league, will start their cup adventure in the FA Cup on Saturday night. AFC Bournemouth and Luton Town were both immediately eliminated last season, but one of these teams will qualify for the next round this year.
AFC Bournemouth:
At AFC Bournemouth, they now have to worry a bit. A few weeks ago I wrote that this may be in Bournemouth, but it certainly did not have to worry about a possible relegation battle. Nothing could be further from the truth, Bournemouth has dropped to eighteenth place in the Premier League and Eddie Howe is feeling the pressure on his team. The Cherries scored only one point in their last four games and therefore ended up under the relegation line.
Bournemouth experienced the low point this week. On New Year’s Day, Howe’s team lost 4-0 to West Ham United without a chance. A huge blow to Bournemouth, which was already 3-0 behind within 35 minutes. Because of that defeat, Bournemouth, which has a lot of injuries, is now under the line. That is new to The Cherries and can also work as an advantage according to Howe, because according to Howe that might change the mindset of his players. Fortunately for Bournemouth, it is not an extremely tough opponent in the FA Cup with Luton Town, as a result of which The Cherries may be able to build on their confidence by achieving a good result against the Championship squad.
Luton Town:
Luton Town is at the very bottom of the Championship. To be precise, Luton Town is in 24th place in the Championship and The Hatters are three points behind Stoke City, which is the first team to be above the relegation line. So it is certainly not a hopeless season for Luton Town. It is not surprising that Luton Town would have a hard time in the Championship this season: The Hatters played in the League One last season and became champion on the third level of England. Luton Town eventually gained three points more than Barnsley, which now stands above Luton Town based on the goal difference. In short: the step from the League One to the Championship is not just made.
Graeme Jones is at the helm at Luton Town. Between 2007 and 2018, Jones was Roberto MartÃnez’s right-hand man and he has only been on his own since the previous calendar year. Jones has been given the assignment at Luton Town that he must maintain himself in the Championship with The Hatters, but the shape of Luton Town is currently not too good. In the last fourteen games, Luton Town delivered no fewer than eleven defeats and only two wins. The Hatters also lost twelve of the fourteen away games in the Championship this season. Incidentally, Luton Town played against a Premier League team at the start of this season: in the Carabao Cup, The Hatters then lost 0-4 against Leicester City.
