Brentford vs Leicester Prediction & Betting tips
A high flyer in the Championship (Brentford) will be visited in the FA Cup on Saturday afternoon by a high flyer from the Premier League (Leicester City). At Brenford they have not lost four games in a row, while Leicester City won again on Wednesday evening.
Brenford:
Brenford is the number four in the Championship. The Bees cannot be dissatisfied with that fourth place. Certainly not when you consider that there are a number of clubs in the Championship that have a much higher budget than the club from London. With a six-point deficit at the front runner West Bromwich Albion, they can even dream of a championship in the Championship at Brentford, although that chance is fairly small. If The Bees qualify for the Play-Offs then they have already done well above expectations in the Championship.
Thomas Frank is the trainer of Brentford. The Danish coach of The Bees has in the past been active in various national youth teams in Denmark and has also been the main responsible for Brøndby IF for several seasons. Frank has been Brenford’s manager since 2018, so he is not doing badly at the moment with The Bees in the Championship. Frank’s team has been unbeaten for four consecutive games and managed to win three of those games. Only last weekend did Brenford go no further than a scoreless draw to visit Huddersfield Town and that was a disappointing result for The Bees.
Leicester City:
For Leicester City, the FA Cup is not yet the highest priority at this stage. Certainly not now that Leicester City is competing in the Premier League for Champions League qualification. The Foxes are still neatly in third place in the Premier League and are also still three points behind number two in Manchester City. The most important thing for Brendan Rodgers is that he qualifies for the Champions League with Leicester City and it must all go really well for The Foxes not to realize that given the current position in the rankings.
After three games without a win, Leicester City managed to leave the field again on Wednesday-evening. The Foxes received a visit from West Ham United in-house and at King Power Stadium, Leicester City was 4-1 too strong for the club from London. Harvey Barnes and Ricardo Pereira were accurate before half time on behalf of Leicester City, which had to take the 2-1 five minutes after the break from 11 meters. In the final phase, Ayoze Pérez threw the game in with two goals. In the previous round of the FA Cup, Leicester City was 2-0 too strong for Wigan Athletic and Rodgers then decided to save a number of players. It will probably be no different to Brenford, also because Leicester City has to play again on Tuesday evening in the semi-final of the Carabao Cup.
