Brescia vs Torino Prediction & Betting tips
Brescia and Torino both lost a derby last weekend and are both six matches without a win. For both teams this is the ideal chance to deal with a bad series, but who of the two succeeds?
Brescia:
The seasonal start of the newly promoted Brescia was promising. Of the first four games, two were won, both at Cagliari and Udinese, the three points were taken. Since then, Brescia only managed to grab one point from the last six games. The narrow defeats against the top players will not blame the team, as Juventus, Milan, Napoli and Inter lost with only one goal difference. In this last match last Wednesday, Brescia even had plenty of opportunities and a draw had been earned but Inter-striker Romelu Lukaku was deadly. Inter didn’t create a decent chance in the second half, but the Belgian chased the only shot in 45 minutes from outside the box into the net.
The defeat of last weekend is charged to the team. In the Lake Garda derby, Brescia lost 2-1 to Hellas Verona. The teams were daring to each other but the home team proved more effective for the goal. The ball hit by Mario Ballotelli after 86 minutes came too late to do anything. This defeat cost trainer Corini the head. It had been speculated for weeks that Cesare Prandelli could take over from him, but in the end Fabio Grosso became the new trainer of the Rondelli. Grosso has been left back with Juventus and Inter among others and became world champion with Italy in 2006. In 2014 he became coach of the youth of Juve after which he coached the first team of Bari and Hellas Verona.
Torino:
Torino does not currently resemble the team that was pretty seventh in the Serie A last season. It performs well below expectations and only won one of the last nine games. After a promising start of the season in which the Europea League was just not reached, Sassuolo and Atalanta were won. Since then, Walter Mazzari’s team has collapsed like a plum pudding and lost among others from Udinese, Parma and Sampdoria. After a 4-0 defeat at Lazio last Wednesday, the Derby della Mole was lost to fellow-countryman Juventus last weekend. Il Toro came along well in the first half and even should have received a penalty after a handball from Matthijs de Ligt. In the second half, home team Torino had little to say and the same De Ligt shot in close from the corner.
The scoring dryness of Andrea Belotti is particularly worrying at Il Granata. He started the season well with five hits in six games and also scored in both European meetings with Wolverhampton. He has now been waiting for a goal for more than five hundred minutes.
