Brighton vs Burnley Prediction & Betting tips
Burnley travels to East Sussex this weekend to take on South East England against Brighton & Hove Albion. The home team had to go to the extreme in the FA Cup on Wednesday-evening and that offers some prospects for a Burnley that can use every point.
Brighton & Hove Albion:
Brighton & Hove Albion is in thirteenth place in the Premier League and is the first team under the big sub-top, consisting of no less than six teams. Brighton is therefore not included, because The Seagulls only have 27 points. With that number of points, Brighton is more likely to be the teams fighting against relegation, although Brighton already has a 5-point lead on the relegation streak. The coastal inhabitants are not yet safe by long and after, but also know that they want to go crazy if they want to degrade. Last season you needed at least 34 points to be safe and that would mean that Brighton would have to score seven points in thirteen matches. That should not be a problem for The Seagulls.
The team of Chris Hughton is also active in the FA Cup. Two weeks ago, Brighton played scorelessly equal in the Amex Stadium against West Bromwich Albion and therefore a replay had to be played. It was scheduled for Wednesday and Brighton had a terrible time at The Hawthorns. The number thirteen of the Premier League was 13-0 minutes from time 1-0, but Florin Andone made it five minutes later that Brighton dragged an extension out of the fire. In the extension, The Seagulls took distance from West Bromwich Albion by two goals from substitute Glenn Murray. Because of the 1-3 victory at West Bromwich Albion, Brighton is part of the FA Cup’s eighth finals, and Derby County is the opponent next weekend.
Burnley:
For Burnley, only the victory counts when The Clarets visit Brighton & Hove Albion. That has to do with the score in the ranking – Burnley is in a disappointing seventeenth place and can use every point. It remains striking that a Burnley, which last year placed itself for European football, this season so gigantic falls through the basket in the Premier League. Although the Clarets are above the degradation line, the difference is minimal. The team of Sean Dyche has only two points more than Cardiff City, which will visit Burnley in April. In the lower regions of the Premier League, however, it can all change quickly; for example, a Burnley victory can cause the Clarets to rise a number of places this weekend.
None of the last four matches that Burnley played were won. Three times, the game ended in a draw. For example last weekend when Southampton was a guest at Turf Moor. The Clarets seemed to have to defeat after a goal by Nathan Redmond, but Burnley made the equalizer in the extra time. The goal came in the name of Ashley Barnes and The Clarets also earned at least a draw against Southampton. The fact that Burnley did not win the first game in February is not surprising: the last fourteen matches that Burnley played in the second month of the year were not won by The Clarets.
