Burnley vs Manchester Utd Prediction & Betting tips
A Saturday full of Premier League football ends in the evening with the game between Burnley and Manchester United. The location is Turf Moor, where Burnley has played his home games since 1883. Many a top club have run into point loss in Lancashire in recent years and Manchester United wants to avoid that on Saturday evening.
Burnley:
Burnley is in the middle bracket of the Premier League and will not soon disappear from it. This Burnley is too good to be in degradation danger, and too little to compete for a place in the subtop. Sean Dyche and his team scored a total of nineteen points in the first half of the season and cannot be dissatisfied with that. Burnley’s principle remains the same this season as in previous seasons: The Clarets must have “long-fetched-soon-home-football” and with that you can apparently survive again and again in the Premier League. The result is that Burnley matches can sometimes not be peeped.
The most recent example of this is the Burnley duel on Boxing Day. The Clarets went to visit Everton and lost 1-0. At Goodison Park, Burnley was unable to release a single shot between the posts and Burnley’s game was not to write home about. After two wins in a row (Newcastle United and AFC Bournemouth were beaten 1-0 and 0-1 in the last two weeks), Burnley ran into Everton against point loss. The chance that Burnley takes three points when Manchester United’s opponent is unlikely: Burnley did not even hit the goal in the last four meetings with Man United on Turf Moor. Jeff Hendrick returns from Manchester United of a suspension and will probably start in the base. Ashley Barnes was on the bench on Boxing Day and is expected from Dyche in the basic team on Saturday-evening.
Manchester United:
Ole Gunnar Solskjær has not made Manchester United a well-oiled machine, but an unpredictable machine. There is absolutely no line in the results of Manchester United this season; victories against high flyers are followed up with defeats against low flyers and vice versa. Man United, for example, lost 2-0 to Watford last weekend and, on Boxing Day, it again won convincingly against Newcastle United: 4-1. Now The Red Devils against Newcastle United fell within a 0-1 deficit within twenty minutes and the team from Solskjær was also helped a lot by blundering Newcastle United players.
Mason Greenwood made a great goal against Newcastle United, but is expected on the bench again on Saturday night. Among others, Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial are fully fit again and they are likely to be supported in an attacking way against Burnley by Jesse Lingard and Daniel James. Paul Pogba only played against Newcastle United in the second half, but seems fit to start from the kick-off. The Solskjær infirmary, for example, is starting to become more and more empty, and that should improve the volatile results in the second half of the season. The problem at Manchester United is again largely in defense this season: The Red Devils did not hold the zero in their last fourteen league games.
