CSA vs Gremio Prediction & Betting tips
Low flyer CSA competes against superpower Gremio in the night from Monday to Tuesday in the Estadio Pele Rei. Despite the disappointing results in recent weeks, CSA smells blood, since Gremio currently has other priorities.
CSA:
Thanks to two promotions in a row, CSA managed to push through from Series C to Series A, but the club from Maceio had a hard time in the Brazilian royal class. The blue and white lost their last five league matches, and with a penultimate place they fear a return to the Serie B.
CSA is therefore completely out of shape. The last defeat in particular (Athletico PR-home: 0-4) was painful, because the visitors played with an improved B-team due to Copa Libertadores obligations. Trainer Argel Fucks took over the baton from predecessor Marcelo Cabo earlier this month, but so far this change of coaches has not achieved anything yet. The hope for a change is largely in the hands of midfielder Didira, who managed to score three times during a training session during training. “He is my number ten against Gremio,” says Fucks.
Gremio:
Gremio is of course one of the traditional top clubs in Brazil, although there is little evidence of this in the rankings this season. With only fifteen points from eleven rounds, the club from Porto Alegre does not get any further than the right row. Yet the Gremio fans are facing the future with confidence, since the blue blacks have been unbeaten since the Copa America break. Last weekend, Gremio pulled an 1-1 draw against Archrival Internacional in the always-laden city derby, and last Friday the team took an advance on a quarter-final place in the Copa Libertadores by triumphing 2-0 against Paraguayan Libertad.
The focus of Gremio is mainly on the return of coming Friday to visit Libertad. “We are in a good position thanks to the 2-0 win from the first leg, but we must not think that we have already qualified for the next round,” said defender Juninho Capixaba. Trainer Renato Gaucho agrees with him, as he plans to fight CSA largely with reserve players. Center defender Walter Kannemann, who received a red card in the first match against Libertad and is therefore suspended for the return, might well be the only regular base player at the kick-off against CSA.
