D. Zagreb vs Saburtalo Tbilisi Prediction & Betting tips
The most exciting and interesting personality at Dinamo Zagreb is Dani Olmo. The 21-year-old Spaniard, who recently won the title at the European Championships in Italy thanks to a final victory over Germany, is rumored to be on the verge of a change to a top European club. FC Bayern also reported interest recently, but will probably wait with a concrete offer until the primary transfer target Leroy Sané finally has clarity.
The fact that the winger talent leaves the reigning Croatian champions, however, seems no longer safe. After the U21 European Championship, the youngster returned to Zagreb in a surprisingly good mood and can suddenly even imagine a future in the country of the Vice World Champion. However, Olmo’s statements may just be a tactical means of pushing the price higher.
Regardless of whether or not Dani Olmo: The capital club will not let the move into the third round. Before the return match between Dinamo Zagreb and Saburtalo Tbilisi sometimes not even more odds for a progress of the Georgian underdog are spent, which impressively shows how the starting position is to evaluate. The Croats won the first leg in Tbilisi already with 2: 0 and are thus facing a domestic backdrop just before a compulsory task.
Nonetheless, the dark blue ones logically claim to be self-defeating such an inferior counterparty a second time. That’s why Dinamo Zagreb vs. Duel appears in the duel. Saburtalo Tbilisi only a tip despite the odds in favor of the home side justifiable. Incidentally, no spectators will be present on Tuesday evening, because, among other things, due to racist hostility of some fans remains the Maksimir Stadium empty.
Dinamo Zagreb:
The fans of Dinamo Zagreb currently have every reason to celebrate. A much better start to the season their team could have hardly put down in the first few weeks. So far, the reigning Croatian champions have played four competitive matches and have always won. Better yet: keeper Dominik Livakovic did not have to go back a single time.
It started with a 1-0 victory over HNK Rijeka in the Croatian Supercup final. This was followed by two sovereign victories in the league against Lokomotiva Zagreb (3: 0) and in the second round first leg of the Champions League qualification in Tbilisi. At the weekend, the “dark blue” confirmed their good early form with a 3: 0 at Slaven Belupo. The self-confidence of the charges of former Bundesliga player Nenad Bjelica is as great as the confidence that the club from the district of Zagreb Maksimir can qualify for the first time since 2016/2017 again for the group stage of the premier class.
In the past year, the Croats failed just short of the last hurdle, the Young Boys from Bern. The way into the playoffs seems to be relatively free again in 2018/2019, as Valletta and Ferencvaros are again waiting for the capital club in the upcoming round. Beforehand, however, the duty in the second leg against the Georgian underdog must be fulfilled. We will face Dinamo Zagreb ahead of the match. Saburtalo Tbilisi, however, predict that the hosts will not let go and easily win another.
The fact that the Croatians lack the necessary motivation after the 2-0 first-leg win is also a fallacy, because on the one hand the players on the big international stage want to present themselves from the best side. On the other hand, it is about leaving a scent mark and preserving the strong-bearish constitution from the first four competitive matches. We can therefore imagine that there is even a bet between Dinamo Zagreb and Saburtalo Tbilisi that the favorite will win both halves.
In terms of personnel, Coach Bjelica, who has been in office since May 2018 and has since lost only six of his 62 matches as a Dinamo coach (47 wins, nine draws), can virtually draw on his full potential. Even the Dani Olmo mentioned in the introduction is considered a wild card, although a mission would involve a variety of risks. It is questionable if Bjelica, who (for the time being) put a stop to the transfer of Keeper Livakovic to Montpellier, takes this risk.
Saburtalo Tbilisi:
Although we defend ourselves against the term “soccer dwarf”, the FC Saburtalo is actually one of those in this year’s Champions League qualification. For the first time ever, the Georgian champion from the previous year participated in the European level. In the first round, the exotic could cause a surprise. Tiflis won 3-0 in the first leg at the more-rated FC Sheriff Tiraspol, but they were close to relegation in the second leg. Despite a temporary 3-0 deficit, the inexperienced Georgians came back and reached the second round thanks to a 1: 3 defeat. There threatens now, however, the befitting Aus. After the 0-2 defeat a week ago, no one should put even a chanterelle on the outsider.
But before we make a crushing verdict on FC Saburtalo, it should be noted that the Red and Blue Blacks did very well against them for a half-time last Tuesday and kept the Croats far away from their own goal. Only with continuous playing time the quality difference became obvious and the outsider caught two goals in the second round. Perhaps the slump is due to the fact that the team of coach Giorgi Chiabrishvili is currently not in the running game mode. The Georgian league has been pausing since July 2nd and will not start until next weekend. The qualifiers are therefore held in isolation, which may not necessarily be seen as an advantage.
After all, it is doing quite well at the national level. In the first year after the premiere title, the team, which consists almost entirely of local players, again the opportunity to the championship. After 21 games Saburtalo are only one point behind Dinamo Tbilisi. But: From the last five league games only one could be victorious. In conjunction with the Champions League qualification FCS stands since the beginning of June thus only two success experiences from seven competitive matches. In terms of self-confidence, the Croats should therefore be clearly in the advantage. Personally, the coach has no significant failures to complain. Perhaps this is because we are looking for well-known professionals in the squad of the surprise team anyway in vain.
