Dordrecht – Cambuur Prediction & Betting tips
Only three days after the last matchday of the Jupiler League, the play-offs are already on the schedule for the teams that will play in the first round. FC Dordrecht will take on SC Cambuur at home on Tuesday-evening.
FC Dordrecht:
Few followers of the Jupiler League had been surprised if FC Dordrecht had not made it into participating in the playoffs. The team of coach Gerard de Nooijer quickly settled in the bottom regions of the rankings and therefore the ambitions could soon be put in the fridge. Nevertheless, FC Dordrecht can now take part in the playoffs and that is what the South Hollanders owe to a perfectly timed advance. The Sheep heads climbed to the top eight and conquered the third period. After winning that period, FC Dordrecht took things a bit slower and ended up finishing in thirteenth.
The dearth of De Nooijer could immediately break up on the lack of pure form. In mid-March FC Dordrecht conquered the third period by defeating RKC Waalwijk, but after that victory the team did not manage to impress anymore. The nine games that followed resulted in seven defeats. Last Saturday, NEC was pretty good at 3-3. In that spectacular game FC Dordrecht first had a 2-0 lead, but later on a 2-3 deficit. In the end, it was Andreias Calcan who, with his second goal of the evening, managed to avoid defeat in the 86th minute and that was very nice as FC Dordrecht played an hour with ten men because of the red card of Julius Bliek.
Bliek will be able to take action on Tuesday evenings despite that red card and that is positive news for the hosts. However, it is already certain that Robert Mutzers will certainly not be part of the competition selection. The attacker spat in the direction of De Nooijer after his early substitution against NEC and that is a disciplinary suspension. Mutzers will probably no longer take action during the remainder of the season.
SC Cambuur:
Cambuur will have to come into action in the first round of the playoffs, which is certainly not ideal, but at the moment there seems to be something positive in Leeuwarden. Trainer René Hake has succeeded in finding the best form by the end of the competition. The six league games scheduled for the month of April were all won and as a result, Cambuur entered the playoffs with the perfect mindset. During that series, the Frisians also managed to score sixteen goals, so it can be concluded that the shape is right.
Cambuur closed the league on Saturday-evening by winning at Telstar, another team that will participate in the play-offs. The visitors were assisted in the saddle by an early red card from Rodney Lopes Cabral in the 29th minute. Justin Mathieu immediately shot a penalty against the ropes and after that goal, Cambuur managed to win the win. Because of this, Cambuur ends up on goal difference in eighth place and has to take action in the first round. FC Emmen, the number seven, enters a round later. Cambuur will now go to the match against FC Dordrecht with a lot of confidence.
Before the first meeting, Hake does not have to take into account a long injury list. Jurjan Mannes is on the side because of a hurt, but the selection of Cambuur houses enough qualities to form a good midfield. Behind the name of Matthew Steenvoorden is still a small question mark. The central defender fell against Telstar injured, but then trained with the group.
