Dordrecht vs Jong AZ Prediction & Betting tips
FC Dordrecht last week achieved a surprising victory at Go Ahead Eagles, while Jong AZ won the better-regarded Young Ajax. On Friday evening, both teams will meet each other in the Riwal Hoogwerkers Stadion.
Dordrecht :
FC Dordrecht escaped the disastrous relegation to the Second Division last season on the last day of play and as a result, not much of the South Hollanders were expected before the start of the new year. Again, the budget was not to provide for a real quality impulse, but trainer Gerard de Nooijer has succeeded in making progress with his relatively inexperienced selection. FC Dordrecht lost only five of the thirteen league matches and that is just a good result in the previous season. The defense, however, remains a problem child since FC Dordrecht already 26 opponents got to process and with that the team is leading in the ranking.
Last week, De Nooijer’s team washed away the defeats against RKC Waalwijk (1-0) and FC Den Bosch (0-3) in the away match against the more esteemed Go Ahead Eagles. The Eagles had the home advantage and partly because of that FC Dordrecht was the underdog before the start of the game. The De Nooijer men, however, produced one of their best matches of the season and goals from Julius Bliek, Mailson Lima and Gustavo Hamer proved to be more than enough to win the victory: 0-3.
De Nooijer will therefore have little reason to change for the meeting with Jong AZ. Positive news for the hosts is the fact that Antonio Stankov will be available again. The regular right back of FC Dordrecht was suspended last week, but this week he is back again.
Jong AZ:
In the last few weeks, the draft came in at Jong AZ, as a result of which the team of coach Martin Haar seemed to have started a free fall towards the bottom places, but last Monday the Alkmaarders again managed to win a game. The duel with Jong Ajax delivered the fifth victory of the season and that victory ensured that Jong AZ is currently in the thirteenth place. What is also striking is that the new team in the Jupiler League struggles to defend well for the day to come. The defense already swallowed 26 goals and that together with FC Dordrecht is the highest number of goals against the Jupiler League.
The game against Young Ajax also seemed to be heading for a defeat. The Amsterdammers walked away to a 0-2 score within 50 minutes, but later the hosts cleverly recovered. Jeremy Helmer, Tijani Reijnders, Mats Seuntjens and Levi Garcia left the net and as a result, after a ninety minute of football, there was a 4-2 score on the board.
Jong AZ hopes to continue this line in the away game with FC Dordrecht, but Haar will probably make some changes. Players like Rens van Eijden, Garcia and Seuntjens are also in the race to make minutes in the Eredivisie and therefore they are likely to let this game shoot. Fred Friday, who replaced Wout Weghorst last week in the Eredivisie, will probably not be able to take action due to AZ’s match against FC Twente on Friday.
