Dyn. Kyiv vs Lazio Prediction & Betting tips
Dynamo Kiev won a 2-2 draw last week in the first leg of Lazio, and thanks to her two, she has won the best papers for reaching the eighth finals of the Europa League. The visitors from Italy are faced with a difficult task, because the Ukrainians are unbeaten at home this season.
Dynamo Kiev:
Dynamo Kiev has sold a lot of quality this season, including the summer sales of star Andrei Yarmolenko to Borussia Dortmund, although last week in the Stadio Olimpico nothing was noticeable. The Ukrainians played a strong game and the 2-2 draw with goals from Viktor Tsygankov and Junior Moraes was well deserved. The team of coach Aleksandr Khatskevich now has a great chance to join the last eight of the Europa League, because a goalless draw is in principle sufficient.
Dynamo Kiev is in any case full of self-confidence towards the return, because the Ukrainians are unbeaten this season in their own NSK Olimpijs’kyj. Last weekend, the team won 1-0 vs. Veres for its home crowd thanks to a goal from Junior Moraes again. The Brazilian striker is therefore on shot, although former Anderlecht striker Dieumerci Mbokani also made his comeback after injuries. Chances are small that Khatskevich will put the Congolese on Thursday night directly in the base, although he might well be used as a crowbar. More important, however, is the tightening of the defense, because the Ukrainians in their five European home games this season only once the zero hold. Only against AEK Athens did the rearguard with art and flying work keep the goal clean, although that was more honest than wisdom.
Lazio:
Italian Lazio was therefore surprised by Dynamo Kiev last week and is now on the brink of European elimination. Realistically, for Simone Inzaghi’s team on Thursday-evening in the stone-cold Kiev, only a victory is needed to secure a place in the quarter finals in the second-most prestigeous club tournament in Europe.
Still, I doubt the extent to which the Romans are busy with the return against Dynamo Kiev, as in the Italian Serie A, the Champions League qualification is at stake with a current fourth place. Last weekend, Lazio visited Cagliari with 2-2. Club top scorer Ciro Immobile (24 goals) beat his club in the fifth minute of the injury time, but afterwards Inzaghi was especially angry with the officials because they refused to watch the video after a penalty not given. “Apparently the video referee does not exist for us,” Immobile blared afterwards. In addition, Luis Nani, in the flight back to Rome, would have gotten to stick with a group of Lazio fans who criticized him for his poor performance. The Portuguese wing pits were not served by that, after which the stewards had to come into action to avoid the trams. All in all, we can conclude that there is currently a very tense atmosphere in the Stadio Olimpico.
The big question now is obviously whether Lazio will rotate on Thursday evening. In the Serie A, the home game against Bologna is scheduled for the weekend, a duel in which the Biancocelesti can not afford to lose any point. So I would not be surprised if, among other things, Immobile would be spared, although nothing is known about it at the time of writing. Defender Martin Caceres is not in the party because of injuries.
