Dyn. Kyiv vs Rennes Prediction & Betting tips
In group K of the Europa League, Dynamo Kiev can take a big step towards European wintering on Thursday-evening. Then the Ukrainians in the own Olympic Stadium in Kiev will have to make short work of Stade Rennes. With a French stunt the picture suddenly looks very different.
Dynamo Kiev:
Dynamo Kiev with just five points from three group matches does not really convince in the group stage of the Europa League. The Ukrainians have completely blamed themselves on that, because both in the first group match at home against Astana (2-2) and in the second match against Jablonec (2-2) they gave away a certain like victory in the final stages. Two weeks ago, while visiting Stade Rennes, the team of coach Aleksandr Khatskevich again seemed on the way to a draw, but just before time, midfielder Vitaly Buyalskyy gave his team a very important victory. Dynamo Kiev had no luck about being lucky, because they were less on the pitch because of a red card with a man. At a new victory at Stade Rennes, the Ukrainians put the French on five points behind and European wintering is as good as inside.
The joy of the late victory in and against Rennes, however, was only short-lived. Dynamo Kiev lost its last two league matches in their own country, including the away match against eternal arch rival Shakhtar Donetsk (2-1). As a result, the gap on the list-leader increased to eight points, making the Khatskevich troops seem to have no chance in the battle for the Ukrainian national title. Perhaps a nice victory in the Europa League can alleviate the pain of the capitals. All eyes are focused on Viktor Tsygankov, the greatest talent of Dynamo Kiev. Among others, Tottenham Hotspur is linked to the playmaker, who would like to show in the second-most prestigious club tournament in Europe.
Stade Rennes:
The away match against Dynamo Kiev is in a sense the last straw for Stade Rennes. The French are in third place in the group stage with only three points. The visitors are therefore not allowed to lose on Thursday evening in Kiev to keep their European dream alive.
With only two victories from the last nine matches in all competitions, Stade Rennes will step on the plane with little confidence. Last weekend however, Caen won with 1-2, resulting in the red blacks taking some distance from the relegation zone in the Ligue 1. Nevertheless, there is some quality in the Roazhon Park. Hatem Ben Arfa is of course the best-known player, but the young Ismaila Sarr also makes a name for himself. The Senegalese striker two years ago had the balls to sell ‘no’ to the big FC Barcelona and with a transition to Stade Rennes he clearly opted for a more gradual build-up of his sporting career. That says something about the character of the young striker.
