Empoli vs Bologna Prediction & Betting tips
The battle at the bottom becomes more exciting throughout the week. For months, Pescara, Palermo and Crotone appeared to be on a stay in the Serie B. But a march of the latter club has brought back the tension. Crotone recently focused on Empoli, and therefore the pressure increased by Giovanni Matusciello’s men. For Empoli Sunday is a crucial duel with Bologna on the program.
Empoli :
Empoli seemed to be on his way for seventh place to secure another season at the highest level in Italy, but Crotone’s recent advance would be able to throw sour in the food during the last weeks of the season. Empoli performed dramatically for months, but in April, Matusciello’s formation suddenly succeeded in making two major victories. Out of Fiorentina’s 1-2 win and the 1-2 win on AC Milan following a week later was perhaps the best result of the season. Empoli worked with confidence in the confrontation with Sassuolo for his own public last week, but that was a real disappointment. The visitors produced three goals for the 60th minute and it proved to be sufficient to secure the profit: 1-3. Crotone played 1-0 against AC Milan, thus reducing the gap with Empoli to four points.
Empoli’s great Achilles heel is still the lack of goals. Matusciello’s team is by far the worst of all clubs in the Serie A and therefore it is best to be a miracle that this club is found to be above the degradation line. To date, Empoli produced only 23 goals in 34 games. All other teams made at least six goals more than Empoli, and that has taken care of.
With those statistics in mind, it is extra for the fans of Empoli that Levan Mchedlidze will not be affected this week because of his injury. The six-goal club top scorer wants to withdraw from the malaise, but he will have to watch this match from the sidelines. For goals, Empoli is co-dependent on Manuel Pucciarelli and Mame Thiam’s performance this season, just for four goals.
Probable setup Empoli
Skorupski, Laurini, Bellusci, Barba, Pasqual, Tello, Diousse, Krunic, El Kaddouri, Pucciarelli, Thiam
Bologna :
Bologna has been a long time at the bottom of the middle ground, but this team has the advantage that it has never really been a problem. Lastly, the recent performance did not really make for a happy face when Bologna scored only four points and failed to win a low-fly Palermo (0-0), but last week, Bologna finally succeeded To show the potential. Roberto Donadoni’s team checked the match for Udinese from the first minute, giving it a good chance of scoring. Eventually, Bologna needed only 59 minutes to decide the game. Two goals scored by Mattia Destro and Saphir Taider’s goal had already resulted in a 3-0 win and a fourth goal scored later. Due to this winning 4-0 win, Bologna does not need to look down on the rankings as the stay in the Serie A has been extended for a season.
It is now only the question of whether Donadoni can manage to motivate his men for a duel with Empoli. His team is performing quite moderately in this season, and the form of last week will have to be included in order to make a positive result. The statistics do not speak for the benefit of visitors. Of the ten, after the winter break, Bologna won only two, with minimal wins on Crotone (0-1) and Sassuolo (0-1). The lack of goals is the main reason for the lack of results outdoors. Bologna produced only seven goals in the last ten outings and that is simply too little.
By the way, Donadoni also has a few injuries this week, which means that he will not be able to get on with his best possible formation.
Probable setup Bologna
Mirante, Torosidis, Gastaldello, Maietta, Mbaye, Dzemaili, Viviani, Taider, Verdi, Destro, Krejci
