Estonia vs Netherlands Prediction & Betting tips
For almost four years, the DFB-Elf of Jogi Löw remained in qualifying games without defeat – last Friday, however, this proud series was terminated just by a long-time rival. Before home crowd had the DFB Elf Holland beaten 2-4 and thus has lost the direct comparison with the Elftal.
While Germany is now required at leaders Northern Ireland, waiting for the Koeman Elf on Monday a supposedly easy task away. In the Baltic States there is an unequal duel between Estonia and Holland.
In mid-June, the Estonians slid into a fierce 0-8 debacle against Germany, but a victory for Holland on this scale would be quite surprising, because the Estonians are classified home stronger than in the foreign. Nonetheless, there are still zero points left after four qualifiers.
Thanks to the win against neighbors Germany, Holland has put in a very good starting position and this is now to be confirmed. The game starts in the capital Tallinn on Monday at 19:45.
Estonia:
Estonia, the northernmost part of the Balatikum with nearly 1.3 million inhabitants, plays only a very minor role in football. The only exception was the qualification for the Euro 2012, as Estonia sensationally secured second place and failed only in the play-off games against Ireland. However, the Underdog was never able to build on these achievements and is now one of the weaker teams in Europe.
In the newly created UEFA Nations League Estonia started in league C, but was overwhelmed in a group with Finland, Hungary and Greece and will be represented in the second edition only in the lowest league. The current European Championship qualification is so far a disappointment. The negative climax was the violent swatter in Germany.
This 0: 8 also ended the term of Martin Reim. The record national player – over 150 missions for his homeland – retired after more than three years in office. Karel Voolaid sat on the bench last weekend for the first time, coaching Estonia’s youngsters.
Only seconds separated the Estonians thereby of the first point profit. In the home game against Belarus Estonia had to be beaten unhappy with 1: 2; a last-minute goal brought the defeat. In the squad of Estonians, former Augsburg and Liverpool legionnaire Ragnar Klavan is the only known name.
The remaining players play mostly abroad – at least 13 legionnaires – but no one has been able to make a name in Europe. A goal victory of Estonia against the huge favorites would be a surprise.
Holland:
In recent years, Holland has become more and more the laughingstock of international football. The semi-finalist of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil missed both the European Championship finals in 2016 and the World Cup last year. Despite the sounding name in the squad there was no reason to cheer. Not only thanks to the achievements of Ajax Amsterdam in the past season, but in Holland there is an euphoria again.
Under coach Ronald Koeman, who has been in office since February of last year, the Elftal has again become a tough competitor. In the UEFA Nations League, the Elftal reached the first rank and had to narrowly defeat in the final tournament Portugal.
Before the duel against neighbors Germany, the Koeman-Elf but was again under pressure, by the unfortunate first leg defeat and the strong performances of Northern Ireland, the Oranje had already nine points behind the Northern Irish, but have played two more games.
Against Germany presented the Koeman-Elf especially in the second round strong and could exploit the mistakes of the Löw-Elf ice cold. Four goals were given to Manuel Neuer in the second half. Outstanding here is the decisive fourth goal of CL winner Georgino Wijnaldum.
Deep in his own half, he launched the attack himself, put a sprint over almost the entire field and then kept his nerves in front of Manuel Neuer. Thanks to the fourth goal, the direct comparison goes to the Elftal.
Thus, the Koeman Elf has the return to the big football stage despite the current third place in the table and six points behind Northern Ireland in their own hands. Victories are a prerequisite for this.
In Estonia, the only question that should arise is the level of victory. With the play joke of the last games a clear victory is likely.
