Everton vs Swansea Prediction & Betting tips
Everton is back in shape and will receive Swansea City on Monday evening. The fans will expect a victory, and we do that too.
Everton :
When Sam Allardyce took over the helm at Everton, he had been shocked by the ease with which his new team had scored goals. As a result, he has canceled the Christmas party of The Toffees and his players are only allowed to take some rest after January 5. The Englishman also demanded something ‘magical’ from his players and that approach seems to have helped. The team seems fitter and better focused than under Ronald Koeman and his temporary replacement David Unsworth. Especially the performances of Gylfi Sigurdsson and Wayne Rooney are now eye-catching.
Everton had not won an away match since January 2017, but that changed on Wednesday-evening. A goal by Wayne Rooney proved sufficient for the 0-1 victory at Newcastle United. However, Everton did pretty well away, because Newcastle hit woodwork no less than twice. Nevertheless, Everton did manage to keep the zero again and Sam Allardyce will be very satisfied with that.
Before Allardyce took over, Everton had scored no less than 28 goals. Meanwhile, Everton has managed to keep the zero in three of his last four games and only had one goal in those four games. The form is slowly but surely coming back and with the current 22 points Everton leaves the relegation zone behind in the coming period. Allardyce let slip that he hopes to go for the top ten and is now well on the way to achieving that.
Swansea :
The Premier League fielder listens to the name Swansea City. The Swans took twelve points in seventeen matches, and Paul Clement is still at the helm. That is impressive in itself as we live in a time where one manager after another is given the lead after a few mediocre results. It is to be hoped for Swansea that it pays out, because few clubs have become better from a relegation.
Last Wednesday Swansea went home with no chance at 0-4 against Manchester City. That is no shame, because this Manchester City seems to break all records. The only problem is that Manchester City apparently had little effort to win the victory. Swansea could not keep The Citizens under control for a moment and defensively it was too fragile, while it was attacking without inspiration and without creativity.
A match against Manchester City can of course be lost, but Swansea had just a positive result after the 1-0 victory over West Bromwich Albion. That good feeling will immediately be gone again. The game against Everton may not be lost, but a week later the home game against direct competitor Crystal Palace is on the program and that is actually even more important.
