Feyenoord vs Rangers Prediction & Betting tips
In Group G of the Europa League, Feyenoord will face Rangers on Thursday-evening in its own Kuip. The Rotterdammers have been revived since the arrival of former Rangers coach Dick Advocaat, but can absolutely no longer afford a loss of points.
Feyenoord:
The current season of Feyenoord can best be described as a true roller coaster. Jaap Stam, who was appointed last summer, seemed to be the perfect trainer for the team from Rotterdam with his no-nonsense mentality, but due to disappointing results, De Rots from Kampen soon threw in the towel. Under Dick Advocaat, peace has returned somewhat to De Kuip, but the current tenth place (!) In the Eredivisie shows that a great deal still needs to be done to help Feyenoord get back on top.
On Thursday evening, Feyenoord may forget its Eredivisie trubbels for a while, when at home against Ranger’s European wintering is at stake. With a third place and three points behind the numbers one and two Young Boys and Rangers, Feyenoord simply cannot afford a point loss. Since the arrival of Advocaat, the red and white with two wins and two draws are still undefeated, but only the three points count on Thursday evening. With the exception of Steven Berghuis, I think the Feyenoord selection is very mediocre, but if Het Legioen shows itself, it could well be a memorable evening in Rotterdam South.
Rangers:
Due to financial problems, Rangers went through a deep trough in recent years and was even put back to the bottom of the Scottish football pyramid, but now the football stronghold from Glasgow is back at the top. The Gers know that arch-rival Celtic is putting the fire back on fire in the battle for the Scottish league title, and are fully participating again outside their own borders. If the Scots on Thursday evening at De Kuip managed to get at least one draw out of the fire, hibernation in the Europa League is a fact.
So Rangers is fully involved in the Scottish title fight and it is enough for Feyenoord to have a draw, but it is expected that coach Steven Gerrard will kick off his strongest team on Thursday evening. Goalgetter Alfredo Morelos already has 22 goals behind his name this season, so he is well on his way to becoming the fifth Rangers player ever to score more than forty times in a season. The Colombian is also on the alert. Depending on the intermediate score, he might be able to deliberately let himself be hurled on the receipt in order to start the knockout phase with a clean slate.
