Feyenoord vs Willem II Prediction & Betting tips
Willem II takes an advance on Saturday evening in the cup final when he visits Feyenoord in De Kuip. The people from Rotterdam feel the hot breath of number four AZ in the neck and can no longer afford a point loss. What can we expect?
Feyenoord:
Last weekend Feyenoord again ran into point loss in an away game. Vitesse held the number three of the Eredivisie on a 1-1 draw in Arnhem, so there was no profit from the draw of competitor AZ visiting PEC Zwolle (0-0). Youth Exponent Orkun Kökcü was one of the few highlights on the Feyenoord side. The Rotterdam-squad certainly did not play without merit in the first half and that resulted from a cross by Robin van Persie in the opening goal and also the second goal by Kökcü this season. Last week it was also announced that the midfielder will in principle extend his contract until mid-2023.
A mistake by Cuco Martina was the reason for the equalizer of Vitesse. Joris Delle, the replacement for the injured Kenneth Vermeer, could not prevent the loss of Feyenoord in his second game this season. Delle will probably be back on the bench against Willem II, as Vermeer seems to have recovered from his injury in time. Tonny Vilhena is also likely to participate again, because just like Vermeer, the midfielder trained fully with the team from Rotterdam last week. The 24-year-old Vilhena now seems to be playing his 200th match in the Eredivisie against Willem II.
Willem II:
Thanks to Alexander Isak, Willem II won 3-2 against low-flyer De Graafschap. The Swede, who was called up for the first time last week for the national team of his home country, scored two goals in Tilburg and thereby crowned his strong game with his third and fourth goal of the season. In his first weeks in Tilburg, Isak proved himself a worthy replacement for the star player Fran Sol, who had left for Ukraine.
The victory over De Graafschap will keep Willem II in the race to participate in the play-offs when the season ends. Although Adrie Koster’s team is in eleventh position in the Eredivisie at the time of writing, number seven Heracles Almelo has only five points more than the Tricolores. In addition, Willem II will of course be in De Kuip again later this season for the cup final against Ajax. You can also get a ticket for European football there, so the dream of European football in Tilburg is by no means unattainable.
Koster has to do it in Rotterdam without Pol Llonch. The Spanish midfielder suffers from an upper leg injury and is therefore a matter of doubt among the Tilburg players. Vurnon Anita seems to be the logical replacement for Llonch, if indeed he could not play on Saturday night.
