Fiorentina vs Juventus Prediction & Betting tips
Fiorentina has been without victory for months and will not receive the points again this weekend, national champion Juventus is coming to visit. Will the Florentines perform better after the international break?
Fiorentina:
Fiorentina started the season as it ended last season. Then it was halfway through the rankings in the winter break and an enormous form dip followed in the second half of the season. Vincenzo Montella was appointed as the new coach, but under his care the team only got worse, two of the last eight games were tied and six lost. Thanks to the points achieved before the winter break, La Viola still ended up three points above the relegation line.
Montella was allowed to stay on and started the new season with two losses. At home against Napoli, the team took a quick lead thanks to an easily given penalty, but thanks to a long shot and a schwalbe by Mertens, the team came back behind. The second half also became a goal-scoring event in which defender Lorenzo Venuti, who had been taken over from Lecce, made two errors that led to Napoli’s 3-4 victory. In the second game at Genoa, Venuti could not count on a basic place and Luca Ranieri, who had come over from Foggia, got the chance. This youngster did not do much better than his predecessor and had lost his direct opponents several times, which led, among other things, to the 2-0 for Genoa. Fio scored the connection goal from a penalty kick, but it never came close to a point.
Juventus:
National champion Juventus started the season flawlessly. In the opening match there was a trusted formation in which none of the new purchases started in the base and only Rabiot received a raid. Giorgio Chiellini made the winning goal early in the game, despite a field predominance, Juve got stuck at 0-1.
The second game against last season’s runner-up seemed a lot easier for the Bianconeri. Juventus had a 2-0 lead against Napoli within twenty minutes and seemed to be heading for a big result in his own house. Debutant Danilo signed for a 1-0 with a spanner, after which the returned Higuain shot into the 2-0 after a perfect cap. After Ronaldo made his first of the season in the 62nd minute, it seemed to be over. Napoli, however, had a comeback thanks to three scoring debutants. Matthijs de Ligt, who came over for € 75 million, was allowed to start in the starting line-up as Chiellini tore off his front cruciate ligament in the run-up to the game. The Dutchman was guilty of all three goals. Fortunately for the Old Lady, Koulibaly made a very unfortunate own goal and Juve kept the three points in-house against the big competitor.
