G.A. Eagles vs Excelsior Prediction & Betting tips
The Eredivisie is pausing this weekend due to the intercountry period, but the Kitchen Champion Division is playing football. Referee Björn Kuipers makes his comeback after a long injury oath and he leads the third home game of Go Ahead Eagles on Saturday. Do the Eagles know to correct the mistake of the previous round?
Go Ahead Eagles:
Jack de Gier’s team had a rather volatile start to the season. The program of Go Ahead Eagles to date seemed relatively easy, but after four rounds the club is in tenth place. In the two games in the Adelaarshorst, Go Ahead Eagles managed to get six points, but outside of Deventer the counter is still at zero. The home win against MVV was difficult, but in the away match against Cambuur a shameful 5-0 loss was suffered. The round after that, the team revanched itself against ten-man Young FC Utrecht was simply settled. It was won 4-0.
De Gier had to visit FC Eindhoven during the last round of play and this away match was also lost. The level was not great, but there were opportunities for both teams. In the beginning of the second half, French striker Antoine Rabillard missed for an open goal. In the 77th minute FC Eindhoven scored the first goal of the match, but substitute Maarten Pouwels tied the score five minutes later. Only a minute later FC Eindhoven scored the 2-1 and ended the Friday night in a deception.
On Deadline Day it remained noisy in Deventer for a long time. VVV defender Tristan Dekker had already undergone a medical examination, but negotiations between the clubs were still broken. Go Ahead Eagles had to act quickly and this was successful. A few hours before the deadline the Eagles managed to snare Jenthe Mertens. The right back comes from OH Leuven.
Excelsior:
Excelsior started the season against two youth teams. In the opening match, the Kralingers defeated Jong FC Utrecht 2-0. Striker Joël Zwarts scored twice and therefore had a glorious debut. Excelsior had a hard time with Young AZ in the first away match, but the team of Ricardo Moniz took three points in Wijdewormer. The Alkmaarders seemed to earn more, but Excelsior was released with a fright and won 2-1. Against Telstar, the Rotterdam-squad in the third round were not exactly scared. Excelsior defended dramatically and Telstar took advantage of it. They lost 3-0.
In the past round Excelsior picked up again with a win against Helmond Sport. Moniz saw that his team had a lot of possession, but it was not converted into opportunities enough. There was a long 1-1 score on the scoreboard, but ten minutes before time, substitute Ahmad Mendes Moreira managed to put his team ahead. Just before time, Jeffry Fortes scored the 3-1 in a wonderful way and Excelsior climbed up again.
Excelsior was also active in the last days of the transfer period. The 19-year-old striker Stijn Meijer came over from Almere City. He played thirty games there last season. Arsenio Valpoort was also presented. The 27-year-old attacker played at sc Heerenveen and PEC Zwolle, among others, but returned to the Netherlands after a foreign adventure.
