Germany vs Belarus Prediction & Betting tips
Germany is playing against Belarus in Mönchengladbach on Saturday evening. With a win, placement for the European Championship is probably a fact.
Germany:
Germany is completing an excellent qualification series on its way to the European Championship next year. Prior to the group matches, it was clear that Die Mannschaft would probably set the tone in this group together with the Netherlands. Northern Ireland keeps up surprisingly well, but the British are not really up to the two strongest teams in Group C. Germany won 0-2 of the Northern Irish in Belfast in September. This happened three days after the 2-4 home defeat against the Netherlands – the only points loss of the Germans so far in this group.
Due to the mutual result, Germany will most likely have to leave the first place in the group to the Netherlands. As a result, one is not a group leader in the draw for the group stage of next year’s European Championship. This is not a disaster, since the placement rules for the knockout phase are very generous. No less than sixteen of the 24 teams will survive the group phase.
Bundestrainer Joachim Löw has a fairly complete group at his disposal for the upcoming competition. There are, however, a few attacking midfielders missing. Kai Havertz, Marco Reus and Leroy Sane are not included in the selection due to injuries.
Belarus:
Belarus is not the worst team in this qualifying group, but the good news for the team of national coach Mikhail Markhel ends there. Also in this qualification series the Eastern Europeans play largely anonymously again. Estonia is slightly worse than the Belarusians, and they also scored four points against that country. The two defeats against Northern Ireland, a country with which Belarus should be able to compete, were disappointing.
The defeats against Germany and the Netherlands were naturally more calculated. A month ago, Belarus played one of its better matches at home against the Orange. With a little more luck, a stunt might have been possible. It was narrowly lost with 1-2. For the country, the series is over after Saturday’s match in Mönchengladbach – Belarus already played seven group matches. On Tuesday there will be friendly against Montenegro.
