Goztepe vs Kardemir Karabuk Prediction & Betting tips
Although there are still four matchdays to complete in the Süper Lig, it is already clear that Karabükspor will not leave the last place and is thus determined to be relegated to the second division. Since the 14th round of the season Karabükspor could not surrender the red lantern in the league and with only twelve points from 30 games that is no surprise. Promoter Göztepe, however, is currently in sixth place, but is tied to the following teams of Sivasspor and Kayserispor. So Göztepe is not only the best placed climber, but also has the chance to improve on Trabzonspor over to fifth place, as the competitor from the Black Sea has only two points ahead. At worst, a crash on the thirteenth place in the table – at least purely mathematically – possible. A win against the far and away bottom of the table should therefore be on the way to the EL backdoor (5th place is sufficient for a matching outcome of the Cup final) duty.
Göztepe:
After the 5-0 defeat against Besiktas Istanbul earlier this month Göztepe has stabilized again somewhat. This was followed by a narrow 2-1 victory at home against Bursaspor and a 1-1 draw away at Akhisarspor. The average form of the team of coach Tamer Tuna is positive, but fell after a strong start to the season slowly and therefore only slightly. Nevertheless, victories and defeats changed frequently. Although Göztepe was only able to win one of the last five matches and the victories were generally very close, the home advantage for the Izmir team is always very important. Only one of the last eight home games has Göztepe lost. Rather, they have even won three of the past four home games. In the whole season Göztepe lost even only three times at home and that only against top teams like Basaksehir, Besiktas and Kasimpasa.
Even abroad, the climber did not need to hide. Only seven defeats in 16 away games were suffered, from which one can derive a total of quite a positive and, above all, continuous overall performance of the team. Currently, the two important center-backs Kadu and Adama Traore still fall out, but their loss could be compensated quite well in recent games. Top striker Demba Ba, who scored five goals in only nine appearances for his team, also falls further. Even with the departure of Adis Jahovic, the team is missing at the end of the season, an exceptional striker who would be able to decide a game single-handedly.
Karabükspor:
You do not have to speculate much about the form of Karabükspor. After a strong season opener, the shape curve showed only steep downward. A negative climax is the series of ten defeats in a row. The last victory has been back for almost three months and managed to equalized 1-0 against Alanyaspor in their own stadium. Karabükspor holds several negative records. 24 out of 30 games were lost in total, and with 70 goals scored, Karabükspor averaged more than 2.3 goals in each game and scored just over 0.6 goals per game.
In the second half of the season, this rate was even just under 0.4 goals per game. Away, the record for Karabükspor is even blacker. In a foreign place, the team of coach Ünal Karaman has even lost 14 competitive games in a row. The team’s top scorer with six goals, Mali-born Frenchman Mustapha Yatabare, joined Konyaspor earlier this year. Two of the better strikers in the team, Herve Kage and Maris Alexe, are also injured. Also missing are two important center-backs, including the red-locked Luis Ibanez, who acted until then as a substitute on different positions.
