Graafschap vs Excelsior Prediction & Betting tips
With Cambuur – NEC and NAC – Go Ahead Eagles, two beautiful games are on the program in the thirteenth round of the Kitchen Champion Division. Nevertheless, Friday’s top match is kicked off in Doetinchem. A loaded pot, because while De Graafschap can take the lead again, while Excelsior can pick up the connection to the top.
De Graafschap:
The team of Mike Snoei is in a very strong season and after twelve matches is still undefeated in the Kitchen Champion Division. De Graafschap is particularly busy in De Vijverberg. Of the six home games, the team played one tie and the other games were won. In these home games, the Superboerenslechts received two goals against. In total, goalkeeper Hidde Jurjus received seven goals against this season, making him the least-missed goalkeeper of the Kitchen Champion Division. In addition, the Achterhoek club creates many opportunities on the flanks. Mohamed Hamdaoui and Daryl van Mieghem look strong.
Last weekend these wing attackers were also in absolute blood shape. On paper FC Dordrecht seemed a simple opponent and in the end this turned out to be a reality. The Moroccan left winger scored twice before half time. Early in the second half Ted van de Pavert received a red card, but only then did the score really end. Ten-man team De Graafschap eventually won 5-0.
The midweek cup round was less successful for De Graafschap. They had to go to Arnhem for the away match against Vitesse. The Eredivisionist turned out to be a size too big and won 2-0. For De Graafschap, the cup tournament was, as usual, again of short duration.
Excelsior:
The Kralingers are running a slightly less good season in the Kitchen Champion Division. The expectations were that Excelsior would compete at the top of the competition. In fact, this also happens and the club is six points behind the leader Cambuur and thus De Graafschap. The problem is not in the home games, but mainly in games outside of Rotterdam. In away games, the Ricardo Moniz team appears sloppy and unorganized. Of the six away games, only one ended in a triple point and that is already two months ago. These are not hopeful statistics for Excelsior with De Graafschap-out on the program.
Last Friday, to make matters worse, Excelsior also suffered its first home defeat. The Kralingers were 0-2 behind thanks to goals from Jurgen Ekkelenkamp and Lassina Traoré. Shortly after that second goal, captain Sander Fischer was twice yellow in seconds for protesting and allowed him to take a shower. Rai Vloet made the connection goal, but Traoré shot this glimmer of hope as he made his second goal. The match ended in 1-3.
Excelsior had something to make up for last Tuesday in the cup match (back home) against NEC. After three minutes the team fell behind thanks to Anthony Musaba. At the start of the second half it came through via a header from defender Thomas Oude Kotte, but fifteen minutes later Musaba made it 1-2. Thomas Verhaar tied the score in the 88 minute and the teams were able to extend. In that extension, both Oude Kotte and Verhaar managed to make their second goal, and then suddenly it was 4-2. Thanks to four goals from “Thomas”, Excelsior is continuing.
