Granada CF vs Molde Prediction & Betting tips
Perhaps the most remarkable poster of this Europa League evening is the meeting between Granada and Molde, who both managed to stunt in the previous round by eliminating Napoli and Hoffenheim respectively. Both teams are in the eighth finals of a major European tournament for the very first time ever, and can therefore continue to hope for more European success.
Granada:
The European fairy tale of Granada will get a new chapter on Thursday evening. The Spaniards are making an absolute dream debut in the Europa League, after they managed to stunt against the much stronger Napoli in the previous round. The men of success coach Diego Martinez were the Italians over two duels, however, 3-2 the boss, with which they managed to join the last sixteen of the Europa League.
However, the excellent results of Granada in Europe contrast sharply with the mediocre form in its own country. Since the turn of the year, the red and white in LaLiga have managed to score only four points from twelve games, with last weekend’s 2-1 defeat at Athletic Bilbao as the most recent setback. With a tenth place, however, the team does not have to fear relegation, so that it can still fully focus on the double confrontation against Molde. Martinez will have to puzzle on Thursday evening, however, because with Yangel Herrera, German Sanchez, Angel Montoro, Luis Suarez and Luis Milla no fewer than five important players have to be absent.
Molde:
The presence of Molde in these eighth finals of the Europa League is also a huge surprise. However, the brave Norwegians managed to win 0-2 in the previous round at the German Hoffenheim, after the first leg at home had ended in an insane 3-3 draw. Trainer Erling Moe is on his way to a statue, because Molde has never been able to get this far at a major European tournament.
Molde is also doing very well, although the lack of competition rhythm could play tricks on the team. The Norwegian Eliteserien has already passed three months, while the new season only starts after the diptych against Granada. On the other hand, that means of course that the Norwegians can fully focus on this eighth final, even though they are the obvious underdog against Granada. However, with Eirik Ulland Andersen and former SC Heerenveen midfielder Magnus Eikrem, they have two excellent players in the ranks.
