Helmond vs Den Bosch Prediction & Betting tips
On Friday-evening, Helmond Sport will play a Brabant derby for the third consecutive week, this time against FC Den Bosch, which also did not win after the winter break. Which team will take another three points?
Helmond Sport:
Helmond Sport finished last season in the Kitchen Champion Division and this year the red lantern is also a realistic scenario. At least when Willie Boessen’s team is unable to break the negative spiral. The Cat Swatters are already eleven competition matches devoid of a victory and have only managed to collect fifteen points after 22 games. Every week Boessen maintains courage and points to new leads. His team kept Ajax and NAC on a draw.
However, there is also a downward spiral: where Helmond Sport managed to score in almost every game before the winter break (just about every game ended in ‘both teams to score’), the team knew in the first two league games of 2020 the net still not to be found, despite the arrival of Jordy Thomassen, who scored no less than 27 times in his previous two seasons at the club. Against NAC Breda and last week a visit to archrival FC Eindhoven (2-0 loss), his added value was not yet fully realized.
At Helmond Sport the infirmary is becoming increasingly empty. Boessen can have an almost completely fit selection and has something to choose from. Top scorer Diego Snepvangers is fit again after a long injury, but it is unlikely that he will be there from the start.
FC Den Bosch:
FC Den Bosch started the season moderately to badly, but thanks to a very strong series for the winter break (fourteen points from six games), the Bosschenaren were completely back in the battle to mix the play-offs. For a play-off ticket, the poor start of 2020 certainly did not help: a visit to NEC and home to Go Ahead Eagles was unnecessarily lost. Against NEC, Erik van de Ven’s team had more than enough chances to break open the score, while last week a 2-0 lead was lost against Go Ahead.
Because of this we find Den Bosch in twelfth place, with 28 points from 22 games. The backlog on Telstar, in the current ranking the last team to win a play-off ticket, is still only five points, but then there must be won again.
Just like Helmond Sport, FC Den Bosch also attacked during the winter break. Due to the injuries of Ryan Trotman and Jizz Hornkamp, there was a need for an attacking impulse and it was found in the person of Pedro Marques. He scored six times (and gave seven assists) in the first half of the season for FC Dordrecht. Presumably he immediately starts in the base with his countryman Ruben Rodrigues.
However, FC Den Bosch lost two important defensive links: Leo Vaisanen left for Elfsborg in Sweden, while Stefan Velkov finished the season at RKC Waalwijk. Junior van der Velden was taken from FC Utrecht as a replacement.
