Japan vs Ivory Coast Prediction & Betting tips
Ivory Coast and Japan both have a training camp in the Netherlands, in which the countries play friendly matches. One match has already taken place last week, but this week there will again be played internationally in the Galgenwaard in Utrecht. What can we expect?
Japan:
For a year, the Japanese did not play at an international level, but the selection finally came together again. Some players from the J-League were not called up so that this competition can continue. National coach Hajime Moriyasu only had a choice of players who are active in European football. Fortunately for Moriyasu, there was still plenty to choose from. Some big names such as Takumi Minamino from Liverpool and Yuya Osaka from Werder Bremen, for example, were there. The impressive Takefusa Kubo was also able to make his debut, but the national coach still chose ex-Eredivisionist Ritsu Doan. Japan played a friendly game in the Galgenwaard against Cameroon.
Cameroon had significantly fewer high-level players on the match selection, but Japan really had a hard time with the team of Karl Toko Ekambi. Both teams did not score in the game. The debuting Kubo from Villareal and Yukinari Sugawara could not change the score either. There was a scoreless draw in Utrecht.
Ivory Coast:
After a year without an international match, the selection of Patrice Beaumelle came together again. The selection took the plane from West Africa to the Benelux. They could prepare for the friendly international matches against Belgium and Japan. Last week, the number 60 played against the number one in the FIFA world rankings. For De Olifanten, this was a difficult start under the era of the new French national coach Beaumelle. Belgium took office with a B-team, where young talents were given the opportunity. The Red Devils took the lead through Michy Batshuayi, but Frank Kessié shot his country in the final minutes. Ivory Coast played well with a 1-1 draw against the Belgians.
Ivory Coast is therefore not a weak football country and includes Nicolas Pépé, Wilfried Zaha, Serge Aurier and Kessié. Many players are therefore active in a top league, but there are also a handful of talented players who may be able to make their debut. For example, Anderson Niangbo van Gent or Mallorca striker Lago Junior can win a first international match.
