Jong AZ vs Nijmegen Prediction & Betting tips
After a complete game round of the Kitchen Champion Division was scheduled for last Friday, that is also the case on Monday evening. NEC will visit the AZ promise team in Alkmaar. Will the people of Nijmegen succeed in sticking to the broad subtop or will Young AZ book a surprising victory.
Young AZ Alkmaar:
For Jong AZ, the final matches of the season are all about talent development. The team is in a meager eighteenth place in the Kitchen Champion Division and the only sporting goal is actually to dispose of FC Dordrecht from seventeenth place. There was only won four times this season and no fewer than eleven times. The Alkmaarders surprisingly won Go Ahead Eagles in front of their own audience on September 14 and since then they have remained no less than fourteen games without a win. The competition was resumed after the winter break by Young AZ with an away game at the U21 team of FC Utrecht. This turned out to be the perfect opportunity to finally add three more points.
In the second half of the season things are going a lot more aggressively with Young AZ. The defeats can still be counted on one hand and there have already been three wins. A great achievement, as they saw top scorer Ferdy Druijf temporarily leave for NEC during the winter break. The lack of scoring ability makes itself felt. In 21 of the thirty league games played, the promising team scored no more than one goal and it is difficult to collect points. Last Friday there was again no score against TOP Oss. It was Philippe Rommens who shot the Ossenaren in the final phase to three points.
Nijmegen:
NEC will do everything in its power to ultimately win a competition. It has certainly been a long and debilitating season for the people of Nijmegen, especially with many deep valleys. Head coach Jack de Gier was under pressure for months, but the board kept faith in the former player of the club and this paid off in the second half of the season. The competition was resumed mid January with a 3-2 loss visiting FC Eindhvoven, but hereafter NEC remained unbeaten nine games in a row. The 1-0 defeat visiting a battered Sparta would have hurt, but the loss to the home crowd against Jong Ajax last Friday was without a doubt a lot harder.
All in all it was a bizarre competition that took place in the Goffert. Ferdy Druijf took the Nijmegen team ahead early, but then had to watch how Valclav Cerny managed to lift the score not much later. A red card from Joey van den Berg in the 64th minute was a serious setback for the home team. The game was stopped for a few minutes after the NEC supporters threw a few items onto the field and gave chants to referee Christian Mulder. Lassina Traoré then completely immersed the people of Nijmegen in mourning by making the winning one minute before time.
