Juventus vs Atl. Madrid Prediction & Betting tips
In Group D of the Champions League, Juventus takes on Tuesday night at its own Allianz Stadium against Atletico Madrid. The Italians go for a group win, although the Spaniards hope to throw a spanner in the works.
Juventus:
Juventus is of course again this season all about winning the Cup with the Big Ears. The field game of De Oude Dame can definitely be a lot better, but in terms of results trainer Maurizio Sarri does an excellent job. The club from Turin is in the lead in the Serie A, and with ten points from four group matches is also assured of wintering in the Champions League. A victory or even a 0-0 or 1-1 draw is enough for the Italian football giant on Tuesday evening to secure a group win in group D.
Juventus is therefore in good shape, although Sarri does not seem to be completely convinced of a successful outcome. He stopped Cristiano Ronaldo last weekend in the difficult away game against Atalanta (1-3). The Portuguese superstar has been struggling with slight knee problems for a while, although it is expected that he will kick off again on Tuesday evening. Blaise Matuidi is also on the cards with two yellow cards, so he could just do a Ramosje (read: consciously take a card) to be able to start the knockout phase with a clean slate.
Atletico Madrid:
With seven points from four group matches, Atletico Madrid is well on its way to the eighth finals of the Champions League. With a victory in Turin, the Spaniards are permanently placed and they will be in pole position in terms of group victory, but a draw would also be fine in itself. After all, the team retains a lead of at least two points on the number three, and can then complete it in two weeks at home against Lokomotiv Moscow.
Atletico Madrid therefore has excellent papers to spend the winter in the European champions’ ball, but the Spaniards will still board the plane to Italy with nodding knees. With three Europa League finals and two Champions League finals in the last ten years, the red and whites have hit hard in Europe in recent years, but with only one win from the last five games, the team of coach Diego Simeone is quite out of shape. The good news is that super talent Joao Felix made his comeback against Granada (1-1) last weekend, but among others Stefan Savic and Diego Costa are still in the rag basket. Jose Maria Gimenez is also likely to be absent, so Felipe and Mario Hermoso will probably form the Madrid central defense duo on Tuesday evening.
