Lazio vs Juventus Prediction & Betting tips
Before the international break starts, we will have two more top matches in Italy. The Sunday afternoon is kicked off by Juventus and Lazio, who played against each other three times last season. First, Lazio won the league, after which they also won the Supercoppa at the expense of Juve, the most recent match, however, was won by the old lady thanks to two hits from Cristiano Ronaldo.
Lazio:
Lazio has a busy schedule with two games a week while it is missing several top players at the moment. Last week it went to visit Torino and missing Luis Alberto, Manuel Lazzari, Senad Lulic and Stefan Radu, among others. Ciro Immobile and Lucas Leiva did return from a period of quarantine. Lazio was 2-1 behind at half time, after which trainer Simone Inzaghi Leiva brought in Leiva at half time, shortly afterwards Lazio made the equalizer. Immobile then made its first minutes again and eventually played a role in an insane final phase. Sasa Lukic thought he was the winner in the 87th minute for Torino, but Lazio received a penalty kick deep in injury time from which Immobile made it 3-3. In the final second, Felipe Caicedo completed the turnaround after being most alert at a knockball.
Strangely enough, Immobile and Leiva tested positive again for the corona virus midweek before the start of the match against Zenit, where Lazio played 1-1 thanks to a goal from Joaquin Correa. Half an hour after the game they were tested again by their club, this time negative. So there is a chance that both can participate this weekend, the last corona tests will be performed for this match on Friday.
Juventus:
Cristiano Ronaldo returned last weekend after missing four games because he tested positive. He fell against Spezia in the 56th minute at a 1-1 score and Juve single-handedly shot past the PhD candidate. In the 59th minute he was deeply sent by Alvaro Morata and he simply walked past Spezia’s goalkeeper, and fifteen minutes later he also shot in a penalty. So he immediately makes a difference through his scoring ability as Juve was not much stronger than the number seventeen of the Serie A.
On Wednesday, the Portuguese kicked off for the first time in the game against Ferencvaros. It was just like against Spezia Alvaro Morata who scored the opening goal, and after an hour of play he also closed the game from an assist from Ronaldo. The Spaniard mainly stood out in his first games this season with offside goals, but also scored six valid hits in the last six games. Paolo Dybala also scored two goals in the 4-1 victory, both after blunders between the defenders and keeper of Ferencvaros. Because the last goal was also hit by a player before he landed in the net, the Argentinian only got one after his name.
