Liverpool vs Burnley Prediction & Betting tips
100 points is the magical mark with which Manchester City holds the record in the English Premier League. However, records are there to be broken. Four games before the end of the English league are 92 points for the Liverpool Reds. A win on Saturday against Burnley would bring Jürgen Klopp a step closer to this all-time record.
The Premier League table itself no longer plays a role for the Reds. The first championship in 30 years has been bagged. After winning the Champions League last year, the whole city is upside down. Kloppo still stays on the ground and wants to do what he always plans to do on Saturday, namely simply win a soccer game with his team.
Burnley, however, still has a big goal this season. Sean Dyche’s team is currently in tenth place. Up to Sheffield United in seventh place and the associated qualification for the Europa League, only two points are missing. With this in mind, the away game at Anfield Road could not have been more inconvenient.
Because between Liverpool and Burnley, the prognosis is clearly in the direction of a home win. Burnley is doing well abroad, but the Reds are a power at home and even if Jürgen Klopp is not that serious about the records, his players would like to get the stamp “Best Premier League team ever”.
Liverpool:
If you report about Liverpool in the Premier League, you are running out of superlatives this season, because what Jürgen Klopp’s team conjures up on the lawn could hardly impress. There is nothing left for the competition to find, especially on Anfield Road. Liverpool have won all 17 league home games this season.
However, the home series goes far beyond the current season. At home there were 24 wins in a row and no defeat in 57 games in the Premier League. Nothing else comes to mind than placing a tip on a home win between Liverpool and Burnley. That would be the 31st success this season for the Reds. There has not been something like that before.
Liverpool hosted Brighton on Wednesday. After goals from Mohamed Salah (2) and Jordan Henderson it was 3-1 at the end for the Reds. For Salah, it was goals 99 and 100 in the Premier League. This makes the Egyptian only the fourth player in the Reds jersey to achieve this feat, but his predecessors needed significantly more than 104 games to break this mark.
On Saturday, Kloppo will have to give up Jordan Henderson, Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren due to injury. All other actors are available. However, on Anfield Road it doesn’t make much difference who stands for the Reds on the pitch. Therefore, only the odds of a home win count between Liverpool and Burnley.
Burnley:
Burnley FC still has big goals this season, but it will be difficult to get into the European Cup. The games in Liverpool and then at home against Wolverhampton will be the guide. However, the bookmakers tested by the betting base do not necessarily expect to see the Clarets internationally in the coming season.
Sean Dyche’s team currently has a small run. The Clarets scored ten points from the last four games. Even if the opponent seems overpowering on Saturday, Burnley will try everything to at least score on Anfield. Between Liverpool and Burnley, however, the forecast shows that there is probably nothing to get for the guests.
Burnley FC won 1-0 at West Ham United last Wednesday. Jay Rodriguez was the shooter of the golden gate. The Clarets have once again demonstrated their strength away from home, because in the last six away games Sean Dyche’s team has scored a terrific 13 points.
It is bitter that Captain Ben Mee has no support on the defensive. Sean Dyche will also be without Ashley Barnes, Jack Cork and Matthew Lowton. For that, Chris Wood and Johann Berg Gudmundsson should return to the starting XI. The failures will be difficult to compensate for the master.
