Maastricht vs Jong Utrecht Prediction & Betting tips
After three victories in a row, MVV was put on the ground again with both feet when last weekend, fellow countryman Fortuna Sittard was far too strong. On Friday, a home match awaits against the young team FC Utrecht.
Maastricht :
MVV had won three games in a row and seemed to have won the way up again. That is why the derby against Fortuna Sittard seemed to come at an excellent time, as the rival had been devoid of six victories in a row. With a great deal of confidence, the Star Bearers traveled twenty kilometers to the north, but came home from a cold funfair.
Fortuna was much stronger and overcrowded at times her neighbor. The game ended in a 3-0 victory for Fortuna. For a long time both teams seemed to take a halftime 0-0, because Fortuna in particular missed some good opportunities. Djibril Dianessy put the home team on the lead after a great action and this shot went straight to the break.
In the second half, MVV got some good chances and vainly claimed a penalty, Fortuna was then awarded a penalty after a foul by Steven Pereira on Todd Cantwell. The penalty was flawlessly exploited by Lisandro Semedo. Hereafter, the Maastricht-team got a penalty later, but it was sadly missed by Shermaine Martina, who was allowed to shower a few minutes later with his second yellow card. In the final phase, Fortuna was still leading to 3-0 via Stefan Askovski.
Because of the defeat, MVV was put on the ground again with both feet, but the team of Ron Elsen is far from being eliminated for participating in the playoffs. With a home victory at Jong FC Utrecht, there is a good chance that MVV will be in a paly-off position.
The match against the last minute MVV can not call on the three Christophe Janssens, Joeri Schroijen and Shermaine Martina. The trio is suspended, while captain Ricardo Ippel is not fit yet.
Jong Utrecht:
Young FC Utrecht is the ugly duckling of the Jupiler League this season, but in recent weeks it has managed to get some points together. Seven points were taken from the last four matches.
At the end of October Robin Pronk’s team won MVV’s own home and this proved to be the only victory in a very long period. In the thirteen games that followed, FC Utrecht grabbed only one point, meaning that the team was firmly in last place.
A month ago, however, RKC Waalwijk was beaten no less than 5-2 and a week and a half ago, the team was the leader in the field, Jong Ajax. Last Monday, the points were shared with FC Den Bosch. However, it should be noted that Pronk could call on Anouar Kali, Patrick Joosten, Dario Dumic, Robin van der Meer and Giovanni Troupée.
This quintet will normally not travel to Maastricht, since the main players of the Utrecht team will compete against competitor Vitesse on Sunday afternoon and the betting of these players would mean that they are no longer available for that meeting.
