Maastricht vs Nijmegen Prediction & Betting tips
MVV was in a dramatic form in 2018, but surprisingly won last week on a visit to Cambuur. The people from Maastricht now hope that the leak is definitely up when leader NEC comes to visit.
Maastricht :
MVV had a bad start in 2018. The team of Ron Elsen got only one point (against Telstar) from the first four league matches of this calendar year. Against Go Ahead Eagles, de Graafschap and Jong PSV was lost.
Because of this, the Maastricht fans had little faith in the away match against Cambuur Leeuwarden, which was working on a good series. The Star Bearers triumphed in Friesland as unexpectedly as deserved. with 0-2. The goals were taken in the last ten minutes by substitutes Tuur Houben and Samy Mmaee (who surprisingly started on the bench in favor of Shermar Martina)
With the positive result in Leeuwarden, MVV was able to enter the Carnival with a good feeling, but on Friday, the team has to face NEC again.
Where MVV was plagued by injuries during the first half of the season, Elsen now has an almost fully fit selection. The prospects about Ricardo Ippel were that he would be back after the Carnival. He trains with the group again, but it remains to be seen if he is against NEC from the kick off. The captain is missed as a supercharger in the midfield and he is so important to the citizens of Maastricht that he was brought too early after an old injury, resulting in this long absence. Elsen is therefore wise to take it easy with Ippel, especially now that Luc Mares played a good game against Cambuur last week.
The narrow position remains the problem child for the Maastricht team. Marvin Ogunjimi is often not fit or fit and Atilla Yildirim does not make an indelible impression this season. The danger must come mainly from the wings, where Jonathan Okita and Tuur Houben (who last week for Joeri Schroijen) will probably play against NEC.
Nijmegen:
Between the end of September and mid-January, NEC won no less than eleven of the fourteen games played and the team appeared freewheeling on its way to the title in the Jupiler League. However, the last few weeks it has been proven that the Nijmegen team is certainly not unbeatable. All three away games in 2018 were lost. The new trainer Pepijn Lijnders saw his men lose the battle in Oss, Almere and Emmen. With this, the Nijmegen team lost no less than four of the last five away games.
Despite the lower results, NEC is still well on course for promotion. Fortuna Sittard seems to have lost all four consecutive losses, leaving Jong Ajax as the biggest title competitor. However, the promises of the team from Amsterdam can not be promoted, which puts NEC on pole position for a comeback in the Eredivisie.
Against MVV, Lijnders can have an almost fully fit selection. Steeven Langil is back from a knee injury and will be sitting on the bench. Wojciech Golla returns from a suspension and will take the place of Frank Sturing.
De Gelderlander further reported that Ferdi Kadioglu lost his place and that his place in the starting squad will be taken over by Kevin Jansen. There is plenty to choose for Lijnders: in the spit position it will be between Sven Braken and Anass Achahbar. Vomiting (ex-MVV) scored eleven times so far, while Achahbar scored eight times.
