Marseille vs Amiens Prediction & Betting tips
Olympique Marseille and Amiens did good business last weekend by winning for themselves and at the same time losing competitors points. Which team knows how to give an appropriate follow-up to this Saturday?
Olympique Marseille:
With two wins in the last two games against Girondins de Bordeaux (1-0) and Dijon (2-1) the last two weeks have done good business in view of the goal for this season. The backlog of the number five on Lille, which is second, seems to be somewhat unbridgeable with twelve points and fourteen matches, but the deficit on the number three, Olympique Lyonnais, is only six points. On the fourth place is now Montpellier, which, like OM, has 37 points and a better goal difference, which has an extra game to go. The current form of the Marseillesmen and the program seem to offer opportunities to expand the series of victories in the coming weeks and to catch up on Olympque Lyonnais, which has a busy schedule with a double encounter with FC Barcelona in the Champions League.
After PSG, Stade Rennais and RC Strasbourg, Olympique Marseille this season has the lowest ratio of non-scored games, namely seventeen percent, or four out of 24 matches. In the own Orange Vélodrome, the Marseilles riders failed to score in two of the official matches (a total of fifteen matches). Only the defensive strong teams PSG and Stade Reims managed to keep the zero. Now that Mario Balotelli, who placed no less than four shots between Dijon and Dijon, seems to have finally found his form, the offensive seems to have started again with Rudi García’s team.
Amiens:
In his own home, Amiens managed to book an important 1-0 win last weekend at Caen, a major competitor in the fight against relegation. On a fluke of Moussa Konaté from a corner, Les Licornes could not shoot any shot at goal, so the victory could be written for a large part in the name of Régis Gurtner. An important boost for the goalkeeper, who in the previous four games already four times the ball was allowed to fish out of the net. Because of the win, Amiens is in any case temporarily out of the relegation zone, with 24 points after 24 matches and the corresponding sixteenth place, but both Caen and Dijon have a make-up match and can win the team of Christophe Pélissier in the rankings.
Unlike Olympique Marseille, Amiens has one of the highest ratios of games that were not scored. In no less than 46% (or eleven of the 24 league games played) Les Licornes did not score and there was never even more than twice in a match scored. Besides his own stadium, Amiens also belongs to the least performing teams with only eight points from twelve games on the move and only a better goal difference than last minute and Avant Guingamp, which also achieved eight points from away games. A promising statistic for the PhD student of last season is that four points were scored from the last four away games, but given the football of the last games, the team is certainly not a favorite.
