Middlesbrough vs Norwich Prediction & Betting tips
In the Riverside Stadium, two teams face each other in excellent form. Middlesbrough only lost in the first round. Norwich has also been unbeaten this season for more than a month. It promises to be a great duel!
Middlesbrough:
No team has drawn as often as Middlesbrough this season. The current number seven of the Championship shared the points with the opponent in six of the eleven games this season. Neil Warnock’s squad is extremely conservative. In total, only fourteen goals were scored in Middlesbrough duels. With a total of sixteen goals, Sheffield Wednesday is the only one to come close to that low number. No fewer than eight teams scored equally often or more than fourteen goals in eleven matches.
The last two duels, visiting Blackburn Rovers and Brentford, both ended in a goalless draw. Especially given the attacking ability of Blackburn and Brentford, that is a great compliment to the defense of Middlesbrough. Boro only got five goals this season. In the last seven matches, goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli kept the zero no less than six times.
Last week it came out that Anfernee Dijksteel has signed a new improved contract with Middlesbrough. The Dutch defender, together with Paddy McNair, is an absolute star in the Warnock formation. Dijksteel is now under contract with Middlesbrough until 2024 and will be hunting with his team for a place in the Premier League this season.
Norwich City:
Norwich has benefited greatly from Reading’s form dip. The gap with the leader is only one point, which means that the backlog has almost completely evaporated. Norwich has been unbeaten for seven games in a row and lost only four points in that series. Brentford (1-1) and Millwall (0-0) held The Canaries in check. Norwich is currently tied for second with Watford. Both teams have a positive goal difference of +5, but Watford has scored one goal more than Daniel Farke’s formation and is therefore one position higher.
The last game before the international period, on home soil against Swansea City, was won 1-0 by Norwich. With an excellent goalkeeper Tim Krul under the bar, Norwich had a hard time with Swansea for a long time. Krul shows his great class every week and is one of the best goalkeepers in the Championship. The score was not opened until the 84th minute. Marco Stiepermann hit hard and low on a pass from playmaker Emiliano BuendÃa. The German’s goal turned out to be enough for a victory over The Swans.
