Middlesbrough vs Swansea Prediction & Betting tips
For Middlesbrough, there seems to be little glory in the remainder of the season, Swansea City, on the other hand, is only three points away from the top six, so the Premier League is still in its sights.
Middlesbrough:
On March 7, Middlesbrough won 0-1 visiting Charlton Athletic. That victory was won in the last round before the Championship was closed. The interruption could not have come at a worse time, as it was Boro’s first win since New Year’s Day. Between those two most recent wins, the current number nineteen of the league failed to win as many as eleven league games in a row and also lost in the FA Cup to Premier League team Tottenham Hotspur. Because of this dramatic series, Boro hangs just above the danger zone with a small lead of two points Charlton, the number 22 in the rankings.
In the run-up to the last nine rounds this season, Jonathan Woodgate has completed several friendly matches to get his team in shape. Most recently was the game with Newcastle United. The Magpies trailed 0-2, but managed to beat Middlesbrough 3-2. George Saville and Britt Assombalonga were the goalscorers of Middlesbrough. Woodgate would have been pleased that his team managed to find the net at least twice. Boro had a lot of trouble scoring in the first part of the current season and only managed to hit the net 37 times in 37 games. Ashley Fletcher, former player of West Ham United and others, is the top scorer with eight goals.
Swansea City:
At Swansea City there is much more reason for optimism in the run-up to the final phase of the current season. The Swans are currently in eleventh position and have number six Preston North End in their sights. The distance in the first place that entitles you to a ticket for the playoffs is only three points. Swansea City plays for the second consecutive season in the Championship, having played in the Premier League for seven seasons in a row. Last season promotion was too high: The Swans finished in tenth position.
In anticipation of the match against Middlesbrough, Swansea City has played two exhibition games against rival Cardiff City. There was no decision twice: 0-0 and 1-1. The Swans’ only goal was scored by former FC Twente player Bersant Celina. The games were played on the same day and as usual in exhibition games, minutes were given to as many players as possible.
An advantage of stopping the competition is that George Byers can be back. The Scot came to 29 games this season and was severely injured his ankle on February 8. In an interview on the club site, Byers indicates that he is fully fit again and ready for the rest of the season. Steve Cooper is expected to use the young midfielder again on Saturday afternoon.
