Napoli vs Atalanta Prediction & Betting tips
In the Serie A there is a nice midweek squatter ready, the numbers two and three of last season are facing each other. In that season, Napoli won 1-2 in Bergamo and Atalanta won 1-2 in Naples. At the moment there is little difference between these teams, Atalanta is third with twenty points, Napoli fourth with seventeen points.
Napoli:
Last Sunday, Napoli had the ideal opportunity to get closer to rivals Juventus and Inter. The number one and two lost points on Saturday but the Neapolitans left the opportunity. The team from Naples got away well when SPAL striker Petagna hit the crossbar from a free kick, moments later Arkadiusz Milik scored the opening goal from twenty meters. The striker returned well from his injury and scored both goals last week in the 2-0 win against Hellas Verona. The goal of the Pole was quickly canceled out, however, when Elif Elmas lost his direct opponent Kurtic and the Slovenian was able to free the 1-1. With this, the final score was reached after fifteen minutes of play. The VAR, for example, withdrew a penalty that had been awarded to Napoli before referee La Penna and Ruiz and substitute Llorente, among others, managed to waste great chances.
It is already the third draw for the Partenopei in the last five games. Earlier, the team lacked creativity at Torino and it wasn’t good enough to beat Genk, that match remained scoreless despite many chances on both sides.
Atalanta:
At Atalanta, the valleys of the Champions League and the peaks in the competition follow each other at a rapid pace. In the million dollar debut season, Atalanta scored zero points from three games. It received a lesson in effectiveness from Dinamo Zagreb (4-0) and lost it at home to Shaktar Donetsk (1-2). In between, La Dea managed to beat AS Roma and Sassuolo, among others, and played a draw at Lazio.
The contrast was greatest last week. Out of Manchester City, Atalanta took the lead from a penalty kick, after which City punished almost every chance. The English team turned the score to 2-1 before the break, after which it ended in the second half to 5-1. The painful defeat was brushed away last Sunday in its own stadium, which was opened again this month after a makeover and was renamed the Gewiss Stadium. The visiting Udinese grabbed an early lead in the twelfth minute after a blunder by Simon Kjaer but also quickly abandoned the game. Josip Ilicic equalized Marten de Roon’s assists after 21 minutes, then Udinese’s Opoku took his second yellow card after a tackle from behind on Ilicic in the penalty area. Muriel used the penalty and Ilicic threw the game into the slot just before half-time.
After the 3-1 lead at halftime, Atalanta was able to get on with the attack as it likes to be under trainer Gian Piero Gasperini. Muriel completed his hat trick in the second half (two goals from a penalty) and 17-year-old Amad Traore was also allowed to make his debut in the main force. The youngster joined the youth in Bergamo at the age of thirteen and put the icing on the cake in this match, as he immediately made his first goal for Atalanta (7-1).
